This track features myself on vocals/guitar/dholak, Anna Downes violins, Carrie Garrett backing vocals and Chris Welch cello/production.
This song was inspired by a short documentary on 2015's Comic Relief which told the story of a 12 year old girl living her life seeking food and shelter on an African rubbish dump....

You Dream Of Diamonds

Taken from my forthcoming début album 'Hammer $ Cynical'. This track features myself on vocals/acoustic guitar, Carrie Garrett on vocals and Al Cormell(Shanchez) on cajun drum.
Written around the time of the 2015 UK general election, I was being influenced by the the media hype and observing how easily we all get dragged it to someone's 'trip'. But it's not all doom and gloom as I end the song on what may be perceived as a 'happy ending'....

The opening song to my début album 'Hammer $ Cynical'. This track features my good friends Christian Finn on percussion and Ian Parker on lead dobro/sitar/guitar. Produced by Chris Welch and mastered by Dave Mitson.

This song was written for my wife on our wedding day back in 2013. She still loves this one.....

The One In My Heart

David Jenkins is a singer/songwriter & musician who draws inspiration from Love, Politics & Faith to write deeply personal and introspective songs with a musical landscape of indie/folk and world music.

Hailing from Stourbridge Town in the West Midlands,UK David began his musical journey as a professional bassist, recording and touring for a wide range of artists, singers and groups. Having always been a budding songwriter, David decided after many years performing other people's songs that it was time for him to present his own songs to the public. 

Working alongside close friends and musicians, David has wirtten and recorded an album of 12 new and original songs entitled 'Hammer $ Cynical.Based on David's personal experiences of Love, loss, faith and the creepy world of politics, the album features David's well-honed acoustic guitar playing and soulful vocals alongside indian drums, percussion and classical violin. 

David cites a wide range of influences from musicians Richard Thompson, Elbow, Anoushka Shankar, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell and Lau to journilists and writers John Pilger,Paulo Coelho and Alain de Botton.
