IV101 - David Kochs - Heart Transplant

David Kochs first emerged in 2019 on the release of a split EP via Huntleys & Palmers affiliate label Belters – he then went on to appear on And Music.

The tracks were weird, wonky and have since gone on to cause raucous energy on dancefloors the world over having been picked up by prominent dj’s and tastemakers.

Like many others he has remained relatively quiet over the course of the pandemic. However, earlier this month we received an email detailing a forthcoming album, as well as a string of releases on some of the biggest record labels in modern dance music.
 
It seemed right to feature him in this series, given what is to come and we feel this mixtape solidifies and emphasises just how significant his music might be next year.

Since his first hit on the label 'Ghost Trance', David has recently released on Innervisions and has been playing leading festivals and venues around Europe, warming up for Solomun et al.

'Warming Unit' is an impressive glimpse into David's artistic vision and we're excited to share this with you soon. 'Night Leaving' has been prompting many track ID requests after being frequently played by Dixon and Âme over the past 6 months.

German DJ and producer David Kochs delivers a 3-track EP titled „Meta“ to Diynamic.
Opening track „Run It“ is serving melancholy and introspection in an Electro outfit, guiding the dance floor congregation to close their eyes and search within.
Title track „Meta“ on the other hand is more explorative and connecting, like using tactile senses to make your way through a dark club. Its almost Latin vibe makes you sweat and brings you closer to one another.
And finally „Ultrasenses“, which feels like an androids dream - is it reminiscence or premonition? We don’t know, we just care for the electronic impulses running through our veins.

@davidkochs split EP on @huntleyspalmers 'Belters' sub-label will be released Oktober 18th but we are lucky to have stocked the vinyl exclusively upfront. His track 'Ghost Tance' has been played quite a lot by Âme, Dixon, Peggy Gou, Roman Fluegel and more in the past weeks.
