Piano Vs Fridge

At the Cannes Film Festival 2016 I was invited to a small gathering at the Village International. Somebody gave me a glass of champagne and with this in my hand I felt confident enough to say hello to the famous film composer Atli Örvarsson. 

My first thought was ‚I didn’t know Atli is that young‘. After we have talked for a minute or so he said to me ‚I think what you just mentioned is how Atli Örvarsson approaches projects.‘ - For a second I thought he was talkin about himself in third person. But then I realized I actually wasn’t talking to Atli. Well I just knew I was talking to some composer from Iceland. And to hide how confused and embarrassed I was I just asked ‚Um I have to talk to somebody else. Are you on facebook?‘. This was when I learned I was talking to Ólafur Arnalds all the time. And I learned what a great composer he is (how was it possible I haven’t heard anything about him before??). 

Now with the new sample library OLAFUR ARNALDS CHAMBER EVOLUTIONS by Spitfire in my hands I thought I may share this story and dedicate a short instrumental song to it ;-) The song is called ‚How I met Ólafur Arnalds and thought he was Atli Örvarsson‘. Enjoy.
