A BETTER PLACE from trumpetist, singer, songwriter and producer David Longoria is a collection of modern Vocal Jazz songs. It takes on important issues of today including songs "Make The World A Better Place" about doing good for the world and for others; "Don't Let Another Mother Cry", addressing violence in the streets that plagues out cities today; "Precious Innocence" taking child abuse headon, "Terra Pax" (Latin for "Peace On Earth") which makes one think about the need for world peace; "Look To The Sun", which reminds us to surrender to the higher power for all the problems, worries and concerns of life in our day. 

There are a few lighter songs as well, "Summertime" features a fresh but respectful take on the Gershwin classic featuring the world class soulful voice of Promise Marks, a relative newcomer but the one who is taking jazz and blues radio by storm. David Longoria dazzles with his cadenza and performance of the 1930s trumpeter's anthem "I Can't Get Started" featuring his melancholy mood throughout both his vocals and his impressive trumpet work. On all songs from this album, David delivers honest and stellar trumpet work reminiscint of trumpet greats of jazz and pop including Freddie Hubbard, Al Hirt, Doc Severinsen, Dizzy Gillespie and others. For all the tendencies we have in our nature to overly endulge in things we enjoy, this song takes it to a musical place. Robert Eibach starts the song with his club hook and beat. Guitarist Ariel shows her remarkable stuff with a very edgy screaming electric guitar performance that plays well with others- namely singers Katie Shorey and Andie Sandoval, together known as the electric pop duo Stiletto. The song builds to a head to head conversation of over the top performing from Ariel on the guitar and David on the trumpet.

We Are One was inspired by the 30th anniversary of We Are The World by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. They turned the spotlight on starving people in Africa by joining their voices together. 
This year, we decided to do some good here at home with the issue of races being divided, where we need to take a stand for each other. 

David Longoria wrote and produced We Are One to bring artists from every genre and generation together to stand up for each other. Every life does matter and we want to prove it. No one should feel slighted because of their color or heritage. We are one! This year we spread nothing but love and encouragement with this compelling and infectious song. 

After more than a year recording artists all over the USA and even points across the glove, this song took the top spot in history as "the biggest song in the history of pop music" boasting more than 600 artists all singing together on one song for a very worthy cause.
