Misstress Barbara recently revitalised her longstanding record label, Iturnem, and she is back on the imprint with a peak time techno EP made in collaboration with Paul Nazca.

Born in Italy, but currently living in Canada, Misstress Barbara is an iconic DJ whose career goes all the way back to the ‘90s. She was one of the first female superstar DJs ranked inside DJ Mag's Top 100 chart.

Still getting booked to play headline DJ sets at clubs and festivals across the world, Misstress Barbara is also an accomplished producer whose back catalogue includes influential record labels ranging from Carl Cox's Intec to Christian Smith’s Tronic.

Paul Nazca is a French techno producer whose been releasing music for over a decade on labels ranging from Markantonio's AnalyticTrail to Ellen Allien’s BPitch. He also runs the highly respected imprint, Scandium Records. Along with the success of his many solo productions he has also collaborated on tracks with the likes of Pan-Pot, DJ Hell and now Misstress Barbara.

“Orange” has a hypnotic groove that’s augmented with explosive claps and a modulating synth line.

London-based DJ and producer Rommek releases on 47, showcasing his signature brand of seething, fragmented techno in this formidable label debut.

"Arkho" opens the EP with rolling drums before a heavily distorted synth line pierces the atmosphere, evoking tension and unease before launching into a furious lead. On "Silverlock," broken drums skitter across a droning soundscape, while a glitched-out melody adds a dark tint. "Decipher" squirms with a similarly syncopated rhythm and ice cold textures, topped with crisp hi-hats. Closing track "Synthetic Dream" is threatening but never overly dark, stitching weighty drums between tactile, warped-out synth notes. A chilling cut that conveys Rommek's shadowy aesthetic all the way through.

Hailing from the enchanting landscapes of the UK's southwest, Joseph Sutherland AKA Drumsauw, has carved an extraordinary path as DJ Producer. His third EP on the label arrives after the collab release with label boss Markantonio of last April and two successful years when he released on labels such as JAM, On Edge Society, Planet Rhythm, Say What? and more, with massive support of big names like Sam Paganini, Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Fjaak and Rodhad among many.

Vintage Opens the EP with its old-school crossing modern edge and pulsating basslines immersing you in a captivating sonic realm. "Searching" comes second with its enigmatic and dark atmospheric vocal that sends listeners on a captivating expedition. Third on the list is “Mission” propels you on an adrenaline-pumping journey through pulsating beats and infectious rhythms. Closing the EP is "Syncro'' that weaves a hypnotic spell with its seamless synchronisation of pulsating beats and melodies with its rhythmic precision and infectious groove.

Up next on Amsterdam’s Format label is a four-tracker featuring original cuts and remixes by Matrixxman, Echologist and label boss Juan Sanchez himself.

The fourteenth Format release is definitely one not to miss out on, as it offers material from some of today’s most sought-after techno heads. Up first is Expiration, a joint effort from Matrixxman and Echologist. This one combines Matrixxman’s signature bass and Echologist’ one-of-a-kind dub techno flavors across a very trippy canvas. Format’s Juan Sanchez follows with a dark and synth-heavy rework of the track. On Foʞus, Juan displays a more melodic cut propelled by a playful groove. Closing things off, Matrixxman and Echologist turn Foʞus into a crushing techno track filled with sweeping fx.
