# THE FRACTAL #

Me miré a los ojos en el espejo y entonces sucedió.
Caí dentro de ellos hacia un abismo sin fondo como cae un ancla
a través del agua sin nada que la detenga,
a través de un agua densa y metálica de un mar de mercurio.

Y en un instante comprendes que todo está hecho de la misma materia,
que el espacio infinito cabe en un solo punto,
que ya no hay arriba ni abajo, ni norte ni sur, ni este ni oeste.
Y sigues cayendo por una espiral sin principio, ni fin.
Cayendo a un lugar del espacio que a cada instante se genera a sí mismo.
Es el fractal, lo que te envuelve ahora.

¿Oyes ese ruido?
Es el silencio.
Una avalancha de vacío que se aproxima inexorablemente hacia ti. La nada.
¿Ves esa sustancia que se desprende de tu cuerpo? Es tiempo. Tiempo que no volverá.
Allá fuera sólo queda el caos.
Aquí adentro, sólo hay más caos.

Y entonces piensas:
¿Y si la consciencia que habita dentro de mí no fuera yo?
¿Y si fuera otro ser quien convive conmigo?
¿Quién controla mi pensamiento?
¿Quién me hace estar bien o estar mal?
¿Quién es esa voz interna que vive dentro de mí?
¿Quién eres tú escorpión que das vueltas en mi cabeza y me aguijoneas?
¿Qué quieres de mí?

Uno no posee la realidad,
es la realidad la que lo posee a uno.
El ser. La nada. Todo es lo mismo.
Y yo sigo cayendo por este vórtice que no acaba nunca,
como cae un planeta alrededor de su estrella.

Y ahora estoy aquí,
en esta ciénaga de tiempo detenido,
en este lugar donde el cero y el infinito coinciden,
donde las palabras no pueden ser pronunciadas,
donde mi latir se funde con todos otros latidos que ya se fueron.
Aquí no hay pasado. No hay futuro. Sólo hay presente.
Un presente, que se devora, a sí mismo.

Y me doy cuenta de que uno no nace, a uno lo nacen.
Y que la vida no vivida es una enfermedad de la que se puede morir.
Porque al final de tus días no puedes mentirte,
y nadie puede escapar de su sombra por mucho que corra.

Estoy al borde del precipicio mirando al abismo,
pero en realidad es el abismo el que me mira a mí.
Y pienso «patent portae Meiser», «patent portae», las puertas están abiertas.
Y de nuevo, me dejo caer hacia la inmensidad de una oscuridad sin fondo.

El mundo comenzó sin ti, y terminará sin ti.
Sabes por quién doblan las campanas?
Doblan por ti, doblan por mí.
