ÜBERKIKZ joins for DifferentSound Podcast #220.

ÜBERKIKZ is a Russian-born artist living in Wiesbaden, Germany. Her style is inspired by the techno of early 2000s. Old treasures from the golden age of hard groove are combined with current releases. In this way, the 26-year-old artist creates an unique fusion of old and new. Although her sets are infused with unstoppable groove from start to finish, they don't lack sharpness. The kicks bounce and are at the same time hard and driving. Folk and tribal elements are combined with tooly mental groove. A small pinch of spacy elements creates an unique blend of past and future. ÜBERKIKZ aims with her music to let the listeners explore the depths of their emotions and origins. Detached from thoughts and almost controlled by inner drives according to the motto "think less, live more" she invites all listeners on this unforgettable journey. Each of her sets is a very emotional story, arising from the deepest depths of herself and that everyone can understand if they let themselves drift.

Looks like it was yesterday, but we are now celebrating 100 releases at the Warm Up headquarters, and who better to put the celebration at the proper level than the label boss and curator Oscar Mulero.

In a solid career spanning across more than 30 years, Oscar Mulero has developed his own signature in the global techno scene. These 22 songs are the culmination of a personal sonic journey and makes the seventh full album in his discography.

Across this extended tracklist Oscar explores the most scientific side of techno, where abstraction and alien sounds collide with precise rhythms and ultra mental arrangements, diving deep into sound design and studio mixing techniques.

On this voyage, the machine starts slowly, almost beatless on the first cut Aquí y ahora, slowly growing in intensity and groove on Percepción y conciencia and En un círculo vicioso.

The fourth track Diálogo con la realidad pushes the BPM rate and goes into danceable areas yet preserving the bleepy pulses and precise drum programming. The tension stops in the middle of the tracklists with Laberinto, resetting the spacecraft before going again into hyperspace for three more upbeat songs.

On a journey under your skin things go mental again introducing the listener into some ethereal atmosphere before the last quarter of this extensive alien opera.

This album is a reflection of a timeless approach to techno, to the roots of this sound that was meant to represent futurism and undiscovered sound territories through minimalism and electronic funk. 

To give a written description of every piece included here would not give justice to the sounds encapsulated inside, we give you, the listener, the freedom to experience it in your own way, listening to this composition in its integrity as an abstract film soundtrack, to escape from current state of things and enhance your mind and body into another level of perception.

Viaje interior will be brought to you in a limited edition four vinyl pack and also in digital format in the label’s bandcamp.

Martin Kleinert, founder and producer of the label NEW PORT surprises with the first release GROYNE EP. The late 2014 launched labels, style fits perfectly into the pure Techno genre. As a well settled Berliner by choice Martin Kleinert has never forgotten his roots. This can be recognized if you notice the labels name and art work. The first EP on NEW PORT provides straight forward direction and shows what to expect from upcoming releases and events.

GROYNE: The deep and powerful Kick is present from the very beginning and just slowly the driving elements of the tune are coming more and more into focus. Finally a fascinating Hi-Hat group on top of a metallic appearing Clap gets the tune really going. The sound wave made of the elements Synth, Athmo and the irresistibly pumping pulse out of Drums is moving towards climax - unstoppable, until the groyne suddenly lets it collapse into its very basic components.

OPEN GROUND: The deep and powerful Kick, surrounded by a mystical Athmo slowly gets the breathe-Hi-Hat out of the background just to be melted with the Bass-Drum. This gets you into the mood of another dark night without any limits. On the 2 and the 4 the smith relentlessly hits his hammer onto the metal while the vibrant insecure Synth carefully channels into perception. As soon as you think this is followed by silence, the clashing percussion gets your for the final showdown.

Sons Of Hidden is a live act rooted in techno, blending hardgroove with elements of jazz to create deep, polyrhythmic progressions. Their sound weaves together influences from glitch, dark jazz, bebop, hard bop, hip hop, EBM, and jungle—forming a unique, genre-crossing identity.

Their music has appeared on labels including Mammboh Rhythms (their own imprint), Index IMF, Emerald, BCCO, Positive Source, Suara, and Planet X—each reflecting different chapters of their evolving sound.

In this mix, Sons Of Hidden offers a glimpse into their upcoming releases—an experiment that draws on their jazz and hip hop roots, fused with the rhythms, instruments, and melodies of the Andes. It's a reflective journey shaped by personal transformation, where rhythm and melody become tools for exploring the relationship between inner darkness and light.
