This is an excerpt of a featured track from the upcoming album "Trust in the Path" that will be released in November 25th

Trust In The Path is a selection of songs from the Lotus Rising songbook by Adrian Freedman. These songs have been received by Adrian in sacred ceremonies. Simple songs on themes of light, hope, beauty, healing growth and transformational flow. The songs of the Lotus Rising songbook echo the ancient wisdom teachings of the forests and of sacred traditions from East and West, embodied in new melodies and lyrics.

“For 20 years I would only sing these songs in sacred ceremonies or sacred music festivals, but now the times are changing and I am feeling the call to share them with whoever wishes to listen, the same as I have been doing with my acoustic instrumental music for all these years. 

These songs are intimate messages and prayers that I have received in the deepest folds of my heart. They’ve guided my steps through the transformative years I have been walking on a spiritual path and a medicine path.” 

Trust In The Path features 10 songs, with Adrian singing and playing guitar and shakuhachi. Misha Mullov-Abbado accompanies on double bass and additional contributions are made by Mike Stanton on guitar and Green on percussion.

I learned this song in the Huni Kuin village of Boa Vista in Alto do Jordão, Acre, Brazil. The melody is by Inu Keã and the lyrics are based on the traditional prayer as sung by Nawa Pana.

This song invokes the force of the river to help balance and bring healing.

A lone Nightingale singing his heart out to the night, accompanied by a Shakuhachi Flute.

In May this year(2019) I had the privilege of taking part once again in the Singing with Nightingale' series with Sam Lee. This time in the deep of the night in Highnam Woods, Gloucestershire. Only the sound of my shakuhachi  and a lone nightingale singing his heart out to the night ... I had an extraordinary experience - the more I played with the song of this enchanting bird, the more time seemed to slow down, and the melodic phrases seemed to reveal their inner intricacy in a way that felt like an initiation into the inner kingdom of the nightingale, and then, through him and his song, as a portal into the inner world of nature herself and the very fabric of life. It was an almost shamanic feeling of penetrating the veil of existence, the dimension of melody as metaphor for something beyond sound, in the world of spirit ... and so much information coming through in the silences between the notes ... a truly mystical experience.
