A powerhouse collaboration arrives on Defected as BLOND:ISH, Moby and Kiko Franco come together for ‘Natural Blues’. A bona fide talent with many strings to her bow, BLOND:ISH has emerged as one of this generation’s most acclaimed electronic artists. From launching the non-profit environmental organisation Bye Bye Plastic and her own label ABRACADABRA, to playing the biggest stages around the world like Coachella, Tomorrowland and Pacha Ibiza’s first ever female residency in 2025, there is nothing BLOND:ISH can’t do. Returning to Defected after 2024’s tastemaker hit ‘The Cure’ with KeeQ and Chloe Paige, BLOND:ISH now collaborates with Moby, one of the world’s most prolific and best-selling dance music artists who also returns to Defected after label debut ‘You & Me’ with Anfisa Letyago. The two powerhouses are joined by acclaimed DJ, producer and remixer Kiko Franco, an established Brazillian talent who has collaborated with the likes of Duke Dumont and Vintage Culture while lending his sound to chart-topping tracks from Shouse and Zerb. ‘Natural Blues’ is a uniting of three experts in their field; Moby’s signature, sample-led sound is underpinned by upbeat piano patterns, complimented by BLOND:ISH’s complex production skills, while Kiko Franco’s monumental use of Afro house percussion and synth leads maximises the pre-drop tension. Together the three artists have created a rich and explosive house record that is set to uplift dancefloors globally this summer.

Side C widens the scope of genres we showcase and Side D is made for the calmer moments of the night or the day. This release is meant to be experienced in full or cherry-picked for your favorites to play out loud to your friends or to yourself.

At the age of 14, David Monte discovered his passion for music when he started playing the guitar. What began as a hobby quickly became much more – by the age of 16, he was already performing as a guitarist on local stages, gaining valuable experience in various bands. The energy and dynamics of live performance shaped him, but soon he was drawn to a new musical direction.

Fascinated by the hypnotic sounds and deep emotions of electronic music, he immersed himself more and more in the genre. Artists like Paul Kalkbrenner, Solomun, and Jonas Mantey inspired him and awakened his desire to create his own soundscapes. Currently, he draws inspiration from artists such as Hugel, Maxi Meraki, Adriatique, Vintage Culture, Bedouin, Birds of Mind, Antdot, and many more, to name just a few. Numerous experiments and projects followed – each new idea brought him closer to his unique sound.

After years of creative work and continuous development, David Monte finally found his musical style and the confidence to share his work with the world. Today, he releases his music with the firm intention of creating deep emotions and captivating atmospheres. His genre is house music with diverse influences, particularly shaped by Afro House, Latin House, Tech House, and Deep House. His focus is on redefining these genres and constantly evolving them without adhering to rigid boundaries.

To further refine his skills and elevate his technical knowledge, he is currently studying Audio Engineering. This expertise enables him to work more precisely on his productions and bring his artistic visions to life with perfection.

With a clear vision for the future, David Monte is ready to launch new projects, continue his musical journey, and enrich the electronic music scene with his own creations.

Schon im Alter von 14 Jahren entdeckte David Monte seine Leidenschaft für die Musik, als er begann, Gitarre zu spielen. Schnell entwickelte sich daraus mehr als nur ein Hobby – mit 16 Jahren stand er bereits als Gitarrist auf lokalen Bühnen und sammelte erste wertvolle Erfahrungen in verschiedenen Bands. Die Energie und Dynamik des Live-Spielens prägten ihn, doch bald zog es ihn in eine neue musikalische Richtung.

Fasziniert von den hypnotischen Klängen und tiefen Emotionen elektronischer Musik, tauchte er immer tiefer in dieses Genre ein. Künstler wie Paul Kalkbrenner, Solomun und Jonas Mantey inspirierten ihn und weckten den Wunsch, eigene Klangwelten zu erschaffen. Derzeit dienen ihm Künstler wie Hugel, Maxi Meraki, Adriatique, Vintage Culture, Bedouin, Birds of Mind, Antdot und viele mehr als Inspirationsquelle, um nur einige zu nennen. Es folgten zahlreiche Experimente und Projekte – jede neue Idee brachte ihn seinem ganz eigenen Sound ein Stück näher.

Besonders geprägt ist sein Stil durch Afro House, Latin House, Tech House und Deep House. Sein Fokus liegt darauf, diese Genres neu zu interpretieren und stetig weiterzuentwickeln, ohne sich auf eine feste Definition zu versteifen.

Um seine Fähigkeiten weiter zu verfeinern und sein technisches Know-how auf das nächste Level zu heben, studiert er aktuell Audio Engineering. Dieses Wissen ermöglicht es ihm, noch gezielter an seinen Produktionen zu arbeiten und seine Visionen klanglich perfekt umzusetzen.

Mit einem klaren Blick in die Zukunft ist David Monte bereit, neue Projekte zu realisieren, seine musikalische Reise fortzusetzen und die elektronische Musikszene mit seinen eigenen Kreationen zu bereichern.
