The intent of Happy Plastic was to break free from the norms of music, and use radomized scales, loop oscillations, uncommon recorded sounds, and meditative vocals to create an atmosphere of unknown novelty.

A recollection of memories on the path towards unraveling the mystery of the universe. 
How bitter sweet are the memories as we spiral through the universe together. Impressions recorded upon space-time with emotions determining the intensity. 
Outside the black hole mind there is very little information about what went in. Is the information lost once it crosses the observers event horizon? Do memories only exist in the minds of the participants or are they found in the singularity? 

Who controls what memory can be recalled? When we are born why are some memories recalled from code and others not? Does the Creator control what can be recalled? And if it is forgotten did it exist?

"The Prophet" by David Paul Markell(dp), is an experimental surreal narration of the immortal writings by Kahlil Gibran's book, "The Prophet". The visual and audio journey take the observer through the emotions felt when a dream ship arrives and the past is abandoned but not forgotten. The Prophet soundtrack was first created as an audio experience in the early nineties. Like the beloved Almustafas ship, the visual experience was inspired and unfolded some 16 years later when his sons kite drifted out to sea.  The Prophet is a journey into the longing for the attainment of love and rebirth.

Tantra Love Jam

I created this song to help deal with the suffering from the pandemic and to help  control the fearful thoughts by draining them away.  With an empty cup, new love and energy can flow in.  "Trumpet Angel" from my experimental Happy Plastic days plays on in the background as the end times music as I laid down new meditation vocal tracks and guitar. David Paul Markell is a musician, recording artist, philosopher, and Radio Frequency (RF) engineer from St. Petersburg, Florida. Self-taught since 1984, David was inspired by the Beatles and the heavy metal bands of the 70’s and 80’s, and later Beck and Coldplay. In the early 90’s, David was the guitarist and song writer of the Metal band, Bone China (BC) from Fort Lauderdale, FL. BC created a 6-song Demo, and opened for Saigon Kick at The Cameo on South Beach in 1992. The band disbanded soon after and David went back to college for Electrical Engineering. Recently, BC’s song “God’s Butterfly” was selected to be included in the credits portion of the movie “Death House” in 2017. In the later 90’s, David experimented with metaphysical topics and experimental sounds in the “Happy Plastic” avant-garde musical project. In this project, David created his own plastic flutes, drums, and created electronic devices to develop new sounds beyond traditional guitar scales, trap drums, and vocals. Happy Plastic musical works like “The Prophet” and “Birth of Me” were later posted on YouTube in 2008 under  https://www.youtube.com/user/davidpaul8 with artistic images and additional philosophical messages. In 2004, David graduated from USF with a Master’s Degree in Radio Frequency Electrical Engineering and then raised a family. In 2011, a divorce caused his depression due to the loss of time with his children. David was remarried in 2013, and his new wife and muse, Jennifer, inspired him to write music again. David and Jennifer were an integral member of the Treasure Island Drum Circle community from 2011 to 2019 playing African Djembe drums, dancing together, and sharing the oneness of the shared improvisational beats of a special community of people. David finds solace in playing music and wants to share that experience with others. Since an early age, playing guitar and writing songs, and eventually playing Djembe drums was a way to deal with the dramas of life. As long as he held that guitar or played that drum, he felt safe and under some control of life as everything else seemed to fall to pieces. David enjoys the meditative experience when submersed into the feel of a song’s rhythm. An unexpected job loss in 2018 resulted in a new creative opportunity to deal with anxiety and depression through music for David. From 2018 to 2021, David created what he calls “positive experimental music” with an acoustic guitar, djembe drum, and electric bass to heal and release emotional trauma.  The 11 songs on the “Everything Good” LP were created to be therapeutic to the listener and to promote peace of mind through rhythm and frequency. David experimented with Solfeggio sacred frequencies and healing Binaural Beats in his music. “528Hz Love Jam”, “Ascension”, “A New Day”, and “Be mindful" are therapeutic songs using Binaural beats. Each frequency is chosen to balance the listener's energy and to bring the mind, body and spirit into perfect harmony.  David’s music helped him find a way out of his troubles by using creative visualization and positive affirmations. Each lyric was carefully chosen not for rhyming needs but for emotional release purposes and content. Song topics were selected to learn and emulate them like mindfulness in “Be Mindful”. The “Everything Good” lyrics helps to overcome challenges and to visualize a better life. In “This Too Shall Pass”, empathy and that everything changes is explored. In “No Need to Suffer”, anxiety from the 2020 pandemic is quelled. These songs also would take David on a soul-searching experience into the depths of his soul. In “Light Up the Dark”, the haunting feelings of depression is exposed to be healed. In “Go High”, David dealt with how to create better personal relationships.
