this is my first crash cover, at least the first in a very long time

crash bandicoot is one of my favorite series of all time (if it wasnt obvious) but due to the unique nature of the game its kinda hard to make covers in the soundfont, i tried tho!

I'll bet you 35 bucks this'll get claimed by UMG or some other record label at some point (Edit, just before hitting publish: yep it did, at least on YouTube. I highly doubt LatinAutor owns it though. Use adblockers I guess). I guess this also counts as not only a Smash Mouth and The Monkees cover, but also a Weezer and Eddie Murphy cover. Depends on what ya wanna believe (no pun intended). How many people covered this song exactly?

Anyways I've been wanting to make this cover for years now, actually. I've had it planned since I finished that All Star cover, the prequel to this. Due to lack of time and motivation I never really got around to it until now. Don't give up on your dreams, kids. You'll get there eventually.

This cover was a lot easier than most, which I do appreciate immensely (you don't know what I've been working on behind the scenes). Making Hummer instruments pitched down around half a semitone proved to be a little difficult, as they bend in pitch wildly already.

Oh btw that green creature you see, his name is Shummer. He's a stupid ogre horse hybrid abomination or something. I'd avoid him if I were you.

[2A03, Hummer Team] I'm a Believer - Smash Mouth/The Monkees

It's been a while. Sorry, I got too busy to throw together some album art for this.

Original midi by Erik. The midi was only the melody and a light percussion track, so I completely overhauled it from there.
I needed event music for a future YTP project, likely when the characters do something sneaky, so I did an earlier cover of this that was never shared publicly. Eventually I decided I could go harder on a second attempt, and this was the result.

This time around I've discovered how useful Street Fighter Alpha 3's several distortion guitar samples were, and threw a couple of them in for backing tracks.
The pause theme from Battletoads was sampled just so I could work it into the percussion. A brass section was added. Lastly, before the track loops around, it leans into the Orne theme from Kid Icarus Uprising.
