Minimal Effort is a collection of live hardware jams recorded over a three-month
period in 2022 at Rotunda Compound.
The tracks were built using a compact setup of analog synthesizers, drum
machines, and effects. Everything was sequenced and performed live in single
takes, with no editing or arrangement after the fact—just light EQ and limiting on
the master to bring the level up.
The result is a direct and unpolished snapshot of process: hardware-driven techno
built live in the room, focused on improvisation, repetition, and texture—with all
imperfections left intact.

David Schirmeister
09.06.1990 born in Berlin. When he was about
six years old, he started imitating
instruments and noises with his mouth so
as he got groove and rhythm in his
blood. In 2012, for the first time, he took
part in the Beatbox Championship in
Berlin. This was an amazing experience
for him and he realized immediately that
music would play an important role in his
life. In 2013 his passion grew and he
started to invest his time learning DJing,
but later he was interested in playing his
own productions and then he took the
road of the techno producer. After a
while of finding himself, he totally
focused on electronic music production,
in his music and recording studio in
Berlin. He plays in different clubs in
Germany including Weisser Hase, Polygon
Club, Magdalena Club, Void Club, MBIA
Club and Birgit & Bier in Berlin and also
all over the Europe so as in Switzerland,
Czech Republic and Portugal. In 2020 he
founded his own Techno label "8lackbox"
with the purpose to find new Techno
Dj/Producers and help them to express
freely their style and ideas.
