The long road to Horst: AliA’s residency.

Horst was never 'just' a festival—it’s always been a place where artists grow alongside the community. Few artists embody that evolution as clearly as AliA, a day-one visitor who grew into one of Horst’s most versatile and respected resident DJs.

This year, AliA plays a special role in launching the Horst Peloton – a collective bike ride to the festival in collaboration with Bosch eBike Systems. Not only did she contribute a new mix to mark the occasion, she’ll also perform a live DJ set during the Peloton’s first day, soundtracking the riders’ journey to Asiat Park.

We sat down with AliA to talk about her memories of the early days, her growth alongside the festival, and the beauty of taking the long road—whether behind the decks or on two wheels.

All of them deviate from what’s obvious, possessing the ability to be serene and mental at the same time. Their coming together here is a great opportunity to appreciate this kinship, while at the same time acknowledging what distinguishes them from each other in terms of sound and representation.
