5 days, same fate,  fading fast
red flash at the end of a cigarette 
false hopes, dead dreams, sure she needed that
but she knew she would never defeat the past

escape to new york 'cause she needed a break,
late nights, no flights, she decided to take
a late bus, up north through the snow and cold
couldn’t fight it any longer, couldn’t feel anymore

pit stop, got off, bought a pack of menthols
shoot a few looks at the men and then fall
all aboard, needs more, so she up and took off
no plan, deadpan, she about to risk all  

dumb luck, hit the city with a bag of speed balls,
hit the club, show love, maybe he can fix her
Her body's a vessel, and he plans to feed
They drink and they drink so that he
can feel in control as he pushes and s he, in a fugue of fluidity
presses and pokes

she’s lost in her mind and craving a smoke
trembling and touching, the meaning bespoke
lost in a bed of no hope
goodbye as she cleans off his ropes

The thump of the club Bass is calling her in 
but desire’s a spire that crashes within
