In our "Seiva" residency series, curated by @frunolima, we highlight talent from Brazil who make our hearts beat faster. Our next guest is Davi Markan, an outstanding selector from northeastern state Ceará, who's previously been showcased on Brazilian collective Gop Tun's mix series (which was a killer contribution by the way). For his Seiva mix Davi keeps it downtempo, with a touch of Brazilian sounds, acid and disco here and there. When Davi Markan is playing, it's essential to use a good soundsystem of headset. Why? When the strong and intense beats hit, you'll want to make sure they really hit.

That Brasil is immense is an obvious understatement quite often overlooked y those who haven’t seen its dimension on a map, but when you start grasping how gigantic it is ethnically, geologically, botanically and, of course, musically. Markan is living proof of both this unfathomable diversity and the reaching power of music. Hailing from Ceará, a northeastern state of the country rich in histories of resilience and authenticity, he concocted his unique style with heavy doses of cosmopolitan avant-gardism over a solid base of knowledge of his own regional heritage. The result is a singular mixture of which we provide you a tasty sample in this new episode of Gop Cast.
