At 3:20 in the morning, my Moog hung on to a melody... by tinkering with it a bit, he got me off the track in 2'14". I was very happy with him, but in the morning I triturated an extra potard... and here comes 023!

Here is my first take of the year.   This one was in fact written before the pandemic outbreak, so it really has nothing to do with it but I think we all share a common dream at the moment in that the Covid will subside soon.

I wrote this song during the lockdown, imagining how much more difficult things would have been in days gone by, when earlier generations had so very little means of communication. Travelling minstrels would go from town to town and entertain the local people. In my mind, I pictured townsfolk gathering to listen to a minstrel's song, bringing a message of hope, that their future would be brighter, all joining in to sing in candlelight, illuminating the darkness. I hope this song brings some joy in dark times.
