With no doubt this track is about one of the most extensive out of my works so far...

And I had many doubts that I would ever be able to create any music again - so many month before have indicated a huge loss of interest and creative imagination regarding music making and listening. Almost have been going to surrender, accepting that my lifelong approach and passion to music could be over...

But as you can see and hear: nothing's over yet.

Sometimes life's full of miracles... and even you have to be patient over a long time there is to be a watershed to reveal itself.
This occurance was like a "Handshake with the Divine" for me - all of a sudden but so dearly longed for. Like a solution in a desperate situation.

That's the "story" of this music track and the reason for its title.
And I wish you all a similar experience in whatever hopeless situation it may be...

... with something as a "Handshake with the Divine" figuratively.

Are We Getting There?  Our original looks at the moment in time and new year with both large questions looming but also with hope and optimism.   Annie creates the emotional plea and Alan on both a blazing keyboard and guitar solos sets the tone.  And with Georg and Pinner, the intensity only goes up further.  Can't say enough about everyone here so just enjoy the music.

Written in 1932 by the incredible Irving Berlin. It was an adaptation of an even earlier song he wrote in 1930 for the Al Jolson movie "Mammy" .
It has since been recorded by artists as diverse as Chet Baker, Nat King Cole, Miles Davis , Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Eric Clapton , Diana Krall and most recently by Solveig Slettahjell.
