Local Fuzz is the debut LP from Gene On Earth, his fourth release on his own Limousine Dream label.

Just a few months since arriving to town and Gene has already found himself way in over his head. Several fortnights wiled away in the Rebound Lounge weren’t going to make a man’s life better - that’s as sure as sunrise. 

Just as sure was that the Discount Boys weren’t going to let him skip town without paying his due. Only from the prudent counsel of the canine oracle down in Chinatown does he manage to pull his head out of the sand and see the light. 

A swift flight out the gates and across the neon dunes to the East provides a brief respite - ‘brief’ being the operative word. The Discount Boys were one thing to contend with, but the Local Fuzz are another ballgame.

Gene On Earth - Turbo Island

Intriguing times out there! Much confusion, much uncertainty and a little bit too much of everything. Even music. And recording mediums. Greta probably wouldn't approve of cramming your little apartment with thousands of vinyl discs that will go to waste at some point. And honestly, does the world even need another record label? The answer is no. Except this brand new imprint right here is aiming to put things a bit into perspective. Bisiesto, meaning leapyear in Spanish will only issue its releases on every 29th of February. You know what that means - one release every four years. Less pollution, less redundancy, essential material that had its time to ripe, plus it's a fun idea, too. Bisiesto is run and curated by Carlo and will emphasize on the physical release on vinyl in limited editions of 366 pieces, hand numbered by the man himself. Bisiesto #1 is due with four jams by the label honcho that showcase his variety in an unprecedented manner. The laid back electro- and e-funk-induced groove of "Momo" opens that spectrum, maintaining Carlo's unmistakable feeling for soothing harmonies. enjoy :)

If Emotional House isn’t yet recognised as an electronic sub-genre, then now is the perfect time to sign the dotted line. Enter Sydney’s James Pepper and his latest cut ‘For All My Wrongs’. At just 22 years of age, this kid’s whipped together a house roller that carries both maturity and real feeling. Pep’s already swapped headphones with the likes of Gerd Jansen, Denis Sulta, COEO, Hunee and is a close companion of Berlin’s Black Loops, with whom he shares a few writing credits. 

This belter also marks a new label's release journey. Based out of the inner-western suburbs of Australia’s harbour city, is Gallery.  An imprint that’s all about community collaboration and championing its artists to test sounds from all corners of the spectrum. 

I’d best describe this record as hopeful. At times it feels like you’re climbing a beautiful knoll, itching to see what lies over the other side. Diving straight in with a smothered siren and crunchy drums, we’re then teased by bright keys before being knocked clean off our feet by a charging bull of a bass line. All the while a woman cries out for her lover to pay her the attention she so desperately yearns for! A clever tug of the heartstrings from J.P and yet another nod to his talent for writing gorgeous house. Stay locked.
