Found this old recording from a gig somewhere around 2011. When I look back I
 think that it was way more difficult to play these kind of "eclectic sets" in my hometown Nijmegen than it is nowadays. Simply because there weren't much people in Nijmegen that digged it.. You can imagine how blessed I feel every time I'm invited to play the records I love.

In the summer of '16 my dear friend Guus Christian and I combined forces that resulted in the intimate 'Mancuso X Spectrum' collab at Merleyn Nijmegen.
You can imagine the way we felt when we received the news David Mancuso passed away later that year. We had massive respect for the way he paved the way for so much aspects of clubculture we can enjoy these days. This recording is from the first two hours where I had so much fun with a bunch of records and group of lovely people who made the efford the come early.

Davy Brandts is voor de Nijmeegse locals al jaren geen onbekende meer. Hij is vanaf 2004 wekelijks actief als dj in het nachtleven van Nijmegen en omgeving. Van jarenlang resident in Billabong en jazz op de Waalkade tot aan Techno op Planet Rose. Als dj staat hij er om bekend dat hij de dikste disco/house naadloos aan elkaar draait. De afgelopen jaren was hij ook kind aan huis op de evenementen van DRIFT, 8BAHN en Doornroosje. Door de diversiteit aan boekingen is Davy Brandts niet vies van een uitstapje richting een ander genre. Vandaag de dag zijn, zijn sets dan ook een gerijpte blend van warme rauwe house en disco. Altijd beïnvloed door een waslijst aan jazz, funk en soul artiesten. Zwart als de nacht, meeslepend, zwoel en toch energiek. (Drift Festival 2012)
