In this country song, Heroism is explained and how it could work despite the generations of toxic masculinity ahd chauvenism. In the chorus, he describes what it means to be heroic and how Texas Governer Greg Abbott isn't heroic based on this criteria. In verse two, Dax explains what an ectopic pregnancy and how being forced to have a baby due to a zero tolerance policy of reversing Roe vs. Wade, a woman could die.

"Wild Forces" is a mystical summer tune forged in the heat of this record-breaking summer, echoing through an auditory desert depicted by its single art cover. Its central theme explores the idea of competing forces shaping and warping our lives. Dax’s lyrics journey from a dream realm populated by an elusive feminine entity to the dire urgency of a voiceless individual's struggle to communicate before their demise.

Despite its fun beat, the track concludes with a sobering portrayal of humanity's relentless chase of materialism and hierarchy, akin to a warped hamster wheel. This compelling narrative, underscored by rich musicality, offers an unforgettable auditory adventure.

Wild Forces

Austin, Texas – Artist Dax Martinez-Vargas and producer Jason Richard, have again joined forces for their 8th single collaboration, "The Dissonance is Loud”, crafting another thoughtful and evocative composition. Its complexity and emotional resonance showcase the strengths of their creative partnership, which began during the Covid pandemic in 2020 to complete Dax's LP album ‘Halusanation’.

"The Dissonance is Loud" expertly melds the elements of progressive rock with industrial rock, creating a soundscape reminiscent of legendary artists like NIN, David Bowie, and Tool. Lyrics interweave a sense of despair with rays of hope, delving into themes ranging from corruption and illusion to redemption and self-discovery. The song begins with a sparse arrangement, highlighting Dax's cool, almost detached vocal stylings. However, as listeners journey into the pre-chorus, they'll feel the ambiance shift, driving more emotion out of Dax, only to pull back just before an agitated delivered chorus, revealing raw disdain but wrapped up in the falsetto suggestion that “we need to go back the way we came,” hinting at the idea of simplifying our lives and potentially taking #Degrowth seriously.

Ever the inventive producer, Jason Richard brings a groundbreaking edge to this track. His unique approach, including techniques such as running a drill gun on the fretboard of an electric guitar and singing into the fretboard, gives the song a distinctive resonance that's both captivating and refreshing. Richard plays bass as well as electric guitar on the song. Joe Arcidiacono, a frequent music collaborator of Dax’s (who also plays all over the LP ‘Halusanation’) adds a distinct electric guitar in the second verse and in the bridge. Drums are played by musician Grant Anderson, and pianist Ryan Murphy makes a cameo in verse 1 with the sparsest but effective keys cameo. Dax’s wife, Kathryn Loeffler, makes a cameo in the second verse as she echoes “forces of ruin” in an almost hushed, urgent way.

The release follows Dax's recent summer single "Wild Forces,” exploring themes of being pulled apart in all directions by forces that “warp us” and the intriguing metaphor of a frozen larynx that impedes communication and salvation.

Dax Martinez-Vargas continues to affirm his reputation as a multifaceted artist, unafraid to engage with complex themes and committed to pushing musical boundaries. With an affinity for a broad spectrum of genres and a consistent pursuit of originality, this latest track solidifies his standing as a dynamic and thoughtful artist. Dear America,
This morning, we’re grateful to wake up to a dawn where we can celebrate and mark today as a win for progressive values and a step towards healing this nation.
However. Let us not forget how by the skin of our teeth we arrived here.
Democrats left it all on the table this time, doggedly trying to land this runaway plane of death, despair, and flagrant inequality. They flew straight into the headwinds to face an army of craven, self-serving, sycophantic, power preservationists that have been hiding in plain sight within the GOP for a generation. This time, we won.
We owe it to the future to convert this victory into the momentum that lets us finally pound down the door to a world where black lives do matter, healthcare is a right, and where we all embody a passion for saving our only planet. To do that, we need to remember these faces. They represent the tip of a rigid old iceberg that’s not going to melt on it’s own. We have to stand together and melt it together. That way our children only need to make sure it never refreezes. Can you live with passing that task down to the next generation?
Throughout our celebrations today, keep this flock of catering anti-patriots in the back of your mind. Know that they did all they could to stoke and stir the flames of a toxic patriarchy where American power rested only in the hands of a few. These cowards have endeavored to be no better than their great-great-grandparent overseers. That is a tragic decision but let’s be open about the fact that that has always been their preference.  They’ve had every opportunity to get off the plane. Instead, they stayed in their seats, too cowardly to stand up and say something when they saw something. Let us not forget how hard they fought not to share their slice of the American pie.
Today is our day though, and ‘with malice’ is not how humanists operate. When we get to work and roll up our sleeves, we keep our arms down to help other people climb up to where they deserve to be. Gloating is a game of the inexperienced and insecure, players fresh-faced to the sensation of victory. This song is not that about that. There is no strategy in gloating. This song seeks to be a reminder that if the chicken shit sycophants pictured above had prevailed, we would be witnessing a full scale fascist war reenactment of proud boys, sizzling as we watch them waltz down Pennsylvania Avenue, probably draped in eagle memorabilia drop-shipped from China.
So let’s lift each other up in healing, all the while keeping in mind that old adage that never expires - “don’t forget your history” lest we find ourselves right back here. For that reason it is important that these chicken shits pictured above go down in history as the mob whipping, power hungry, destruction profiteers that they are. And let us hope that if they can’t resolve it themselves, that all of their hate dies in their own hearts without infecting those of their children. Always remember that proponents of this type of cynical warfare will happily drop in on a mercenary’s wave if they think they can surf it to their advantage. Their ilk may have lost the gavel this time but they’re not going anywhere on their own. They’ll be here stabbing and biting at our ankles for the next 4 years. Forget only at your peril, that they are not chihuahuas. They’re the shittiest kind of hyena you can breed and they’ll eat your face if they ever get the chance.
Today though, let’s all take a deep breath, savor this moment's peace, and exhale in hope. We deserve it. Now enjoy this tune.
