“ We did it—we passed!” Haruto shouted, holding the acceptance letter high above his head.

“Yeah… I’m really glad.” Kanon smiled, though her eyes shimmered slightly. “But this is where the real challenge begins.”

Tomoiku High School—an innovative new institution known for its curriculum that deepens learning through pairs.
Not only pair‑based exams, but also project‑based classes and collaboration programs with companies were part of its unique system.

That afternoon, the two met at a nearby café to plan for their upcoming school life.

“What do you want to do in high school?” Kanon asked as she opened her sketchbook.

“Well… definitely experiments and project‑type stuff. Programs that work with real companies sound super fun. And I’m curious about those advanced pair exams too. What kind of problems will they give us?”

“True. But I’m sure they’ll be harder and more challenging than anything we’ve done so far.”
Kanon held her pen, thinking seriously. “Like broader social issues… or tasks where we actually work in the community.”

“That sounds awesome! We can totally handle it.” Haruto said confidently. “We can make even better use of our strengths, and as long as we work together like always, we’ll be fine.”

Kanon nodded. “Yeah. Our strength is that we don’t think alone—we combine our ideas and create new answers together.”

Their sketchbook quickly filled with a list of “Things We Want to Do in High School”:
“Community contribution projects,” “Research on new technologies,” “Collaboration with other pairs”—
each one shining with their excitement for the future.

“Yeah! Bring on any challenge!” Haruto rolled up his sleeves with enthusiasm.
