And as I awoke to the wind and the cold 
I felt the impact of my dismay 
I shot up in terror, in hope, my desperations 
Taking a hold of the reigns 
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Goes the sound of my chest, 
I trip over my feet at the beat of my distress, 
Was this soil of which god himself rests? 
Had the hand of death finally gotten the best 
Of me? Of little old me, he who was sought to be a savior of thee
Of me, of a trembling me, sent to this realm 
With what to believe? I don't know! 
Was this a sign, was this a test? 
The coattails of a sovereignty ascended, 
Had I left behind my flesh? I don't know! 
For miles I was surrounded by fields, 
The golden sun beaming as each blade of life kneeled, 
The quality of receptivity blinding brightly in reveal, 
Ichor of new life, my wonder becoming unconcealed
I stepped forward into the grass, 
The bowing membrane, servants of the vast 
Unknown, dragging with me their tide
"So onward I'll run, till I reach the light"
Crimson tentacles rooted beneath the soils, 
The boundless observers blooming tendrils, uncoiled
Their presence oddly familiar, 
Refractive dormant voiles of nomadic ideology, 
Could they sense my turmoil?  
Yes, yes, yet they remain watching and still
My boots carving through the blades as I ran down that hill
The ringing in my ears devoured me, shrill
New world revelation, prophecy of none to be fulfilled!

Soils Unknown / Atnor, Eastern Wetlands

A couple days before the conception of this track, I was playing Minecraft with a simple OptiFine shader setup. I was top of a mountain, with my little house. And then something hit me, like I really just didn't enjoy playing the game much anymore and I didn't know why... and then Comforting Memories came on in the midst of my pondering.

Shit stopped me, as it answered my question. I just don't have that feeling of happiness or blissfulness with the game anymore, just because of how I perceive the world in my grown-up lenses. Minecraft doesn't have that childhood vibrance or enjoyment anymore. If anything I just come back to it for nostalgia at this point. This realization paired with the song playing caused me to start just crying. Never before has a Minecraft score brought me this much to tears as this one had in the moment.

I wrote this song not as much as a "remix" but as a re-envisioning of the original piece. I wanted to create more of a visual world surrounding this piece to my own eyes, as well as give it more emotional depth. The end result I think came out perfectly to my liking.

so if you’re pushing this, i’m pushing back

challenged myself to produce, and sing on a track that didn't quite cut it for anv8 - still had a ton of fun throughout the whole event, and i'm proud of everyone that contributed! 

i'm always incredibly happy to be creating for a good cause, and every single one of you involved with this project are amazing <3 glad we raised money towards a GREAT cause yet again, and i hope to see as many people contributing next year! i hope you enjoy, had tons of fun creating this track!
