About:

Dayda, real name Dustin Alexander is a Dj / Producer based out of Detroit, MI. Originally from the Detroit metro suburbs, the house and techno sounds of the Motor City formed the basis for his style. Building on that, he pushes the limits of genres, experimenting with everything from classic techno and house, large amounts of UK garage influences, and even juke, ghetto tech, and forward thinking dubstep in his sets, all while keeping a central focus on a smart, classic sound centered around the Detroit vibe. 

An avid record collector and classically trained musician, Dayda got his start in 2007 hanging around shows and record stores in Detroit, practicing and gaining knowledge for years from Detroit household names like Brian Gillespie and members of the Detroit Techno Militia. Still believing that talent, substance, originality and respect should always come before popularity, hype, and image, Dayda's music and performances have always took notice with people as having some of the best track selections around, while crossing a range of musical spectrum that most people never try. Sometimes DJs are good, but boring. Dayda tries to never let that happen.

Dayda became a mainstay in Kalamazoo while running one of the first production companies there to bring back the true techno feel and big original artists from the region back to the west Michigan city since the early 2000s, Kalamazoo Destruct. Since moving back to downtown Detroit in early 2012, Dayda has been primarily working on new productions and getting ready for a new year of live performances.

Currently Dayda is a member of newly renamed Convergence Sound Recordings (Previously Irrational Music) - the new label by Detroit Techno Militia's Dj Psycho with new releases staged for late 2013. Dayda also has remixes coming out in September 2013 on DC10 records, and original releases coming for Intimate Venues.
