I experimented with a clip of Mumbo Jumbo from his Hermitcraft playthrough where he questions life.

I know I do a lot of experimenting, but what can I say, I enjoy trying new things! In this experimentation, I did NOT ALTER the audio clip in ANY WAY...well, apart from slight clipping and repositioning of crucial beats to have them better snap on the downbeat. But other than that, I went with a little David Dockery inspiration and built the drums around the natural rhythm of Oli's speech pattern and set the tempo to one that I felt in his rant. As for the melody, I did the same thing and based the key and main melody off of his natural tone. There's even a moment in his rant, for the keen-eared, where he hits a note that's against the key signature, but I decided to accentuate it to add a little spice to the music~

I know for most of my songs, I recount how it was a joy to work on it and all the experimentation that took place in the creation of it, BUT THIS SONG WAS A PAIN FROM START TO END! There were still various amounts of experimenting that took place in this song, and if you care, I'll actually go into further detail later on. But, this song was originally conceptualized as a collaborative piece between me and 3 other friends of mine. I had enlisted their singing ability and they had all agreed to be a part of this. After setting everything up to make it a smooth collaboration, only one out of the three informed me as to why they weren't able to participate and apologized for the delay (I started this project in January or February, whenever the trend started popping off). With one confirmed unavailable, I waited to hear back from the other two, messaging them every so often to see if they remembered and, to put it simply, I didn't hear back from them. So, with the vast majority of the song already completed, I settled upon recording all four vocal parts myself, giving each one a particular tone and quality to differentiate between the parts (p.s.: FL Studio does not appreciate the grungy pirate voice 😖).
After that issue had been solved, my next problem had been my computer, or FL Studio, or I don't know what the problem is because something did not like the number of things I had going on in this song and FL Studio would be at 100 memory throughout the entire song. And the tempo change at the beginning would lag FL Studio so hard it sounds like it was milliseconds away from crashing, then once the tempo change automation clip ended, it goes back to relatively normal. It was such a pain that I had to turn off the tempo automation and apparently the beginning bass instrument that I made using Vital just to get the project to play smoothly enough that I could edit this video. I was recently able to upgrade my RAM to a whopping 16GB but that apparently did not matter. Please, if you can, buy this and my other songs so that hopefully I can upgrade my storage space; that's the only other thing I can think is the issue (unless it's my GPU, which also needs to be upgraded.)
The final issue that made this whole project a pain, aside from not having money -- because, had I the money, I would have actually been able to commission an artist to paint the accompanying picture for me -- I decided to draw and color the image myself. In retrospect, I guess it doesn't look too bad; I just wish I could have actually gotten a professional artist to paint the picture, that way I would know without a doubt that it would turn out well.

Okay, rant over. About this song. I spent a lot of time experimenting with this song. With a mixture of instruments I created myself using Vital, FL Studio's Sytrus, and probably something else, Serum, maybe, and more experimentation with audio clips from sound packs I've acquired to really make the drop interesting, I really wanted to test my ability with the drop, since that's usually where I'm lacking. The bass at the very beginning is one I created using Vital. During the drop, some of the bass hits were samples that I effected with Grossbeat to give them some character, and the others are instruments I made using FL Studio's Sytrus plugin some time ago after watching a tutorial on how to use Sytrus to create "wub-like" sounds. These sounds have various effects to them to make them really interesting and I think, for once, they actually turned out decent.

"Werewolf" is my submission into the Cymatics "TITAN Song Contest" in which Cymatics provided a beta release of their sample pack titled "Titan" and, as a way for producers to experiment with some of the samples available in the full version of the pack, they are holding this contest in which producers were to utilize the samples provided in the beta version to make a song.

For me, however, I decided to take it a step further -- partially to challenge myself further, but also due to physical limitations. My GPU friend my motherboard earlier this year. I can still technically use my computer, only by using my motherboard's IGC which is not only limited, but severely stunts the processing power -- in other words, I couldn't make music on it, or even play games. I can do this. I can upload this song onto SoundCloud. Because of this, I've been using my boyfriend's computer for the time being to make music, where I do not have all of my downloaded packs available, just some plugins that I tried redownloading without hurting his storage space.

With this in mind, I entered this contest with one challenge: Every sound in the song will ONLY be from the provided sample pack. The only sounds not provided by the pack are my vocals. All of the singing, growling, and howling, were recorded by me, except for one vocal clip that is from the pack that plays during the builds. The main attractions as a result of this limitation are the screamer/yowl dubstep... noise... whatever you want to call it during the drops, which was made by taking a sample of the bass clip I used in this song and processing it using Vital. Similarly, during the drop, the beta pack didn't have any powerful snares (at least, the version that I used didn't, as they released an extended beta version "2.0" after I completed this song, most of my time since was spent drawing the werewolf in the cover), so, for the first time ever, I tried creating my own. I didn't know how to do that, however, so the snare during the drop is actually one from the pack, raw, with a heavily processed cowbell that was provided from the pack using Serum to accentuate the snare, giving it more punch.

Perhaps, in the future, I'll make a video on YouTube where I break down the track in detail.

Now, here are the lyrics, which, by the way, I'm not a lyric writer. I'm a dumb furry musician who's way too into paws. Limiting myself the way I have for this contest, I wanted the song to stand out more and, I don't know, for a lack of a better term, vomited out some high-intensity and mildly contemplative lyrics and sang them in a style I can't sing but figured would be most fitting for the song. In the end, whatever happens with this contest, I enjoy how the song turned out. And if I can ever get my computer fixed, I may go back and swap some samples here and there, refining this into a more thoroughly thought-out song.

🐾 Hey there! Back at it again with another [the same] Super Animal Royale remix! There are a few things about the old version that made me want to rework the song and try it again. I'm going to try to keep the description... within YouTube's character limit... but I wasn't quite happy with the overall outcome of the last version of this remix. The first and foremost thing you'll notice is that I'm no longer playing Duos but am playing Solos this time -- er, I mean, this isn't a collaboration anymore like the last one, this was all me. The main reason why the last version was a collaboration was because I had found CHSH and they worked in a style that I, at first, thought would work with the idea I had for this song. His inclusion -- the first dubstep(/riddim for his style of music) -- wasn't bad, but, personally, it wasn't what I had envisioned for the song. Unfortunately, at that stage, I had absolutely no clue how to structure a dubstep/brostep drop the way I wanted it to be. Pretty much, ever since that video was uploaded, I had been working and learning and messing with the song to see how to make it work how I wanted. I learned a lot of techniques and tried a lot of things. Eventually, I settled with using the two main presets that take up the majority of the section -- a preset for the Vital plugin and one for the plugin Serum. That was that taken care of. Now for the psytrance/whatever that style is section.

🐾 My brain works in weird ways. And, because of this, I will do things that seem unorthodox or wholly unrelated and I will forget to explain or provide context so that people can understand that I'm not crazy (most of the time). The B section of the song where it almost sounds like a completely different song was introduced and mashed together for no reason actually makes sense. A technique I do sometimes, I don't know the name of, like variations or a fugue or something, is I will take the melody of a song verbatim and add to it, or add variations of it. The melody that plays throughout the B section CONSISTS OF THE SAME MELODY FROM THE DEFAULT DANCE SONG but dances around it. Most of the time, this new melody will hit in unison with, what I will call, Melody A while adding a few notes to make it Melody B, then other times, Melody B will hit part of the triad that Melody A would hit at that same moment. The first time I made this song, I completely forgot to emphasize this connection between the two melodies and I'm pretty sure I lost some people to that switch up. This time, I added context in the form of not only the audio sample of the default dance itself but a synth and pluck playing only Melody A throughout the B section to illustrate how the two parts come together. Then, of course, the piano part at the end. I mean, yeah, that's the same thing I just said but as a piano. It plays melody B with the chord progression simultaneously to further the variation.

🐾 Where to begin? Well, the song itself is more or less the same as the last iteration, just MUCH more polished, and more cohesiveness, and this time I actually had an idea of what I was going for. I decided to go for a pseudo-glitch hop style as one would with a remix of a video game soundtrack. Of course, JackSepticEye is still in this version, or rather his amateur voice-over of Muffet's in-game speech. I decided not to say "featuring Jacksepticeye" this time since this time, I decided to try and "animate" Muffet speaking. He does make an appearance as himself at the end, but that's more of like a cameo/guest appearance rather than a feature. But what do I know? I just didn't want to put him on the face of this song because I want this song to speak for itself, not because Seàn is in it. This song, I will say, has been in development for a few years. The main growl bass instrument that comes in during the drop is one I made myself. I spent SO LONG trying to make a good sound, learning new things, trying different things, until finally, this sound worked well enough. Fun fact about the ritardando into the second drop near the end: I had to shorten the length of that. It still slows down to the same temp (maybe slower, I think), but the ritardando was shortened from, like 12 counts to 8 counts because my computer cannot process ritardandos. Whenever I try playing back the song to listen to it, the whole project lags and stutters IMMENSELY that I had to shorten it, but, of course, that did nothing for me. So that's why it's a fun fact. Because it was pointless.

🐾 Now, onto the video. Hoo boy. In keeping with my previous...whatever of adding simple video editing animations corresponding to the video game sound effects that are happening, I decided to do that again. But, like...different. And, uh...I think I went a little too... hard? Listen, I am typing this at 7 am on 14 January after having started the final editing process of this song at about 5 pm yesterday. I am VERY tired and my words are eluding me. But, long story short, for some reason, I decided to MANUALLY animate Muffet speaking. I'm almost 100% certain there was a much easier way to do that. I'm about 85% certain there is a way that I actually know how to do, but instead, I went manual. These aren't gifs, by the way. I wasn't synchronizing a video to the positions or anything. The last time I made the video for this, I downloaded ALL of the Undertale sprites -- all 6800+ of them -- just to make the video. So I did that again. Each frame isn't in a sprite sheet; they are individual images. I'm not going to go on about how tedious this project has been nor will I, again, expound on how much time and effort I waste on these videos. Instead, I decided to write down some numbers, because, undoubtedly, this is the largest project I have ever made.

🐾 That’s right! Another Paw Day goes by and, with it, another possibly furry cringe song from me! At least, this one, I am happier with. My last song, “(Show Me) Your Paws”, wasn’t all that bad; my main issue with that one is that I wanted to emulate a specific genre — much like I did here… — but instead of emulating a genre, I more or less created a pastiche of an artist’s style. I held too closely to their style and, though, I tried deviating from it so it didn’t seem to obvious that I was using them for inspiration (“them” being Alive Deejay and their song “Better Off Alone”, now that I’ve mentioned it, I bet you can hear the similarities…) but in the end, it ended up sounding odd to me and not quite what I was going for.

I blame that on the R&D (research and development) phase I take to my music. Usually, if I am trying to emulate a specific style or genre, I’ll listen to some songs in that specific genre or other remixes of the song I’m remixing, should that be what I am working on, just to get an idea of what I’m working with, potential avenues to venture down, or in the case of remixes, what to avoid so that I don’t end up replicating someone else’s remix. With “(Show Me) Your Paws”, however, the “style” I wanted to go for started out being “80’s techno” but as the R&D progressed, ended up being, “I want it to sound like ‘Better Off Alone’”… which was the problem. For this song, I wanted jumpstyle. I know a few artists who are known for this genre, but I didn’t listen to any of them. I’ve listened to their songs enough to manifest the general vibe that I wanted this song to give off, and with that manifestation of the jumpstyle genre, I managed to create this song.

🐾 Listen. I've stopped caring. Things are going terribly in my life. Have this song. Enjoy it or not, I don't care. With this song, I am going to be testing a lot of... things... with YouTube and with everywhere else this song gets released to. But, honestly, I'm just glad to get it finished and out there, and here's hoping I make more original songs in the future to not have to deal with the headache of copyright.

🐾 As for the background picture... deal with it. I like paws and I tend to turn to them to cheer me up. In this mad world we live in, at least I have paws. I made the image in Blender because I had a better more grandiose image in mind for this deep, emotional song, but it was beyond my capabilities. I was going to try to draw the idea myself but it would not have been an enjoyable experience for me just for a crappy mediocre rendition of the idea I had in mind. I tried making the idea in Blender... but no. Just no. Inevitably, I was just going to us an AI image for this song since an AI-generated image I made managed to follow my idea perfectly. That felt too impersonal for this song, however, so I wanted to at least add a touch of real artistry to the image by drawing over it by hand and patching up all the errors there were, but some douchebag on his "professionally trained artist" high-horse just made me completely lose interest in drawing, so I quit drawing entirely.

So, take this half-assed image because that's all I could be bothered to make at this point.

🐾 Some time ago, I watched the Netflix adaptation of "Watership Down" and I fell in love with it. Shortly after, I bought the book and read it and I fell in love with the world and those rabbits. The emotions in that book are intense, and for someone like me, I really felt like I was there, so this song was inspired by the feelings and emotions I felt when reading the book.

🐾 Originally titled "The Down", the initial inspiration for this song came from wondering what it must have felt like for those rabbits to happen upon Watership Down after all of the troubles they had gone through up to that point. This song has been in production for some time because I really wanted to try and capture the feelings I had when reading that part. Honestly, this didn't turn out how I had wanted it to, but in an effort to get it finished quickly, I made a short, sweet banger song that I decided would work perfectly for short-form media such as TikTok, Instagram Stories, and Facebook Reels.

🐾 Happy New Year! (assuming I uploaded these as I initially planned)! It's been a little while since I've touched this song. I do believe this is going to be the last I visit this song, however. From my iPod touch way back in the day to my early stages of FL Studio to 4 more years of music production knowledge, I think this song has finally reached an iteration I am proud of!

🐾 Also, little side note, because I didn't know what else to put for this second bullet point: the aforementioned premise...— yeah, I don't actually believe anyone has had that problem. It's a real shame, really, that I've been so attached to this song (I assume because of me thinking it was good early on in my music production hobby) when I genuinely don't think anyone would want to sit through the entire "introduction" just to reach the payoff more than halfway through. If you've followed me for any amount of time, you may have noticed that, early on (and sometimes even now), I really enjoyed making songs that start out slow and unassuming before building and transitioning to something completely different. Really not a smart play, especially with classical music being the intro, because that is a sure-fire way of losing interest almost immediately.

But, hey, between you and me, person who, for some inexplicable reason decided to read this far down into my loquacious description — thank you, so much, for doing so by the way, it really means a lot 💖 — a few years ago, I made the "bold" decision to make music, not for anyone else, not for attention, not to satiate other peoples' interests, but for myself. I make the music I would enjoy listening to and how I think I would enjoy it going. Then I upload it. Who knows? If I enjoyed it enough to upload it, maybe someone else would enjoy it. Maybe someone would enjoy it enough to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!!! 😺🐾

Michael Myers (Halloween) Theme (Daymusik Remix)

The first song I had made on FL Studio was a song named "Turnip" (a play on the popular phrase at the time, 'Turn Up'). This song, now named "The Test" was a personal test seeing just how much I've progressed. Though there are some differences in the song that you can hear, there have been many changes on the production side of things that made this test worth trying.

Mumbo AFK (Daymusik Remix)

This song was a pain to work on!  In addition to trying out new techniques, like the metric modulation at the end, this is also my first time collaborating with another artist fully. CHSH worked on the dubstep/riddim section! There's not much more to say about this song OTHER THAN I HIGHLY RECOMMENED LISTENING TO THE "Solos" VERSION ON YOUTUBE.
