DJ Neber nos ha venido deleitando con su propuesta personal de Cumbia/Hip-Hop, donde establecía un nuevo mestizaje entre los sonidos latinos de anta año y los bombeantes ritmos urbanos y callejeros.

En una búsqueda de nuevos grooves y sonidos, DJ Neber se adentra a experimentar con otros ingredientes, para fortalecer su estilo y a la vez darle versatilidad. En 5 cortes no muestra como ha introducido un poco de House, Drum & Bass y un paseo por una amplia gama de samples latinos, entre los que destacan la sabrosa Cumbia, el juguetón Cha-cha-chá y el nostálgico Son.

My latest viking-themed composition! When I began writing this song, I had no idea where it would go. Originally, I was thinking of creating a song that sounded very tribal-like, something vikings would gather and dance to. I changed paths and aimed for something different, but you can still hear the tribal influence in the drums and throat singing.

I was inspired by Seiðr after reading about it in a book. I like to imagine a shaman standing by the shore, performing his ritual. That is why I included the throat singing in the beginning. Throat singing during rituals was a common practice for shamans from different era's. I felt it was appropriate and gave the song life.

I hope you enjoy it. ☺

Incase you don't know what Seiðr (Say-der) is…

Seiðr was a kind of shamanism that focused on altering the course of one's destiny. Practitioner's of Seiðr had magical/blessed ritual staves that were used during trances. While in a trance, the practitioner could travel throughout the Nine Worlds.

L'attente qui sépare chaque nouveau joyau extrait de la mine d'or personnelle de Degiheugi est un peu celle qui nous tenaille à chaque exil forcé avec l'être aimé : on s'y résout en silence mais on s'abandonne à l'allégresse quand pointent les retrouvailles. Deux ans donc après les cimes gravies sur « Endless smile », un septième sommet discographique s'offre à nous, panorama enchanteur où serpentent seize titres dans les méandres de la relation amoureuse. Une thématique qu'on ne présente plus, mais explorée ici avec une musicalité si saillante et distinctive qu'on ne peut que la qualifier de « degiheugiesque » : les valses du désir deviennent myriades de samples solaires, s'épanouissent dans la rondeur de synthés analogiques hérités de l'âge d'or de l’Edm. Durant l'ascension, vous profiterez ça et là de vues imprenables sur les côtes brésiliennes ou africaines, tandis que les invités du cru vous proposeront des escales en terres ragga (feat. Devi Reed), dans l'intimité d'une splendeur trip-hop (Astrid Van Peetersen) ou sur les traces d'un rap aux apparats princiers (Chill Bump, Chima Anya). Degiheugi a beau louer la légèreté de son art et se défendre de tout esprit de sérieux, cette musique et cet album n'ont de «  Bagatelle » que le nom : ils sont avant tout des passions qu'on étreint.

So, the stress of recording & releasing my album is over and both me and Arty could breath some fresh air. I was asked by one of soundclouders if I can make a cover of this song and here it is. Still not fully recovered from some nasty flu I got right before my first solo concert, so I used my voice with caution... in between one tea and another :)

I will be slowly returning back to promised collaborations. Got some back log :)
