New Orleans-inspired Kung Fu blast of brass & drums founded by Reggie Pace (Bon Iver, Fight the Big Bull) f/who's-who of Richmond NC players. SPIN calls "a hot, irrepressible blast of brass and canyon like grooves".   

'RVA All Day' is a celebration of the thriving jazz and R&B scene that birthed the band. A mix of 11 mostly-instrumental originals and instantly recognizable covers written and/or arranged by Pace, 'RVA All Day' is all about movement. "I thought it was weird that jazz decided it didn’t care if people danced anymore," says Pace, whose spirited arrangements of pop classics like "Thriller" (featured on the record), "Take On Me," and even Rush's "Tom Sawyer" never fail to whip the audience into a frenzy. "I wanted to make something that would appeal to people who want to dance."

The members of Richmond's No BS! Brass Band have performed with some of the biggest names in indie music—from Bon Iver and Megafaun to Feist and Sharon Van Etten—along with jazz, R&B, and reggae greats like Gladys Knight, Ozomatli, and the Wailers. But something magical happens when the 11 players step to center stage for a New Orleans-inspired Kung Fu blast of brass and drums. They've captured that magic on record for 'RVA All Day.' NO BS! Brass - Thriller

Out of the primordial chaos of pandemic and two years since their last full-length outing SUPERSAN, those sassy purveyors of World Dance of the highest calibre return with a bang. Duo’s 3rd studio album soon to be released by Boom Selectah Records promises to turn heads and perk ears of the aficionados of Afro House but also has a potential to spill out from the niche and conquer the hearts of wider audiences.
The album titled ‘Little Dakar’ is’ the labour of love of two long time collaborators from Greece, Kostas and Valantis. This time their quest for musical purity and honesty is enriched and enhanced by stirring alliances. Scattered inside the audio-tapestry of this exotic wax flower you will find the vocals from ‘the voice of Senegal’ Jefree, and enchanting strumming from the fret of George Koltsiou. While rich traditions of Senegali music are particularly evident (and reflected in the album title), ‘Little Dakar’ goes far and beyond the sounds of a steamy Dakar Disco dancefloor. Finely tuned ear is in for a treat and could easily travel the distances between Senegal, Angola, Ghana, Uganda and Mali to name but a few. But you don’t have to be an expert to fall in love with this album. The multidimensional colours of African musical heritage are easily accessible to a novice too as the references to better known House and Funk traditions could be heard loud and clear throughout the record.
What makes ‘Little Dakar’ stand out as a clear winner is the up-tempo, dancefloor-oriented approach that SUPERSAN chose to pursue on their third studio album. With ease and panache, the duo throws our way some insane musical chops, while keeping the mood Sunny and vocal hooks joyful. The spectre of moods with which SUPERSAN bombard us is impressive but be it the epic retro-tinged drive of ‘Diem Rek’ or somewhat more sombre, afro-gothic yet seductive push of ‘BLZ’, the hooks of the ‘Little Dakar’ are unmistakably sharp and are sure to act as a call to arms on any discerning dancefloor.

“Everywhere” is a brassy, catchy new banger from Sonny Seeza, the Brooklyn hardcore Hip-Hop kingpin who is one of the original members of Onyx (formerly known as both Suavé and Sonsee). Since striking out on his own in 2009 with 'Tytanium,' he’s been working on a follow-up LP, 'Bridges,' that’s set to drop February 26th.

That leaves us with plenty of time to keep “Everywhere” on full blast. Amid clever lyrical turns from Seeza, the track escalates into a pure slapper thanks to Switzerland’s, DJ Def Cut.

With the horns sounding off behind him, Seeza’s bars are especially potent during the second verse. It’s brimming with questions aimed at listeners of all kinds, from those with gigantic egos (so big they can’t fit through a door), to those who may prefer one genre or another. And it all blends perfectly into the hook, which absolutely deserves to be heard in a live setting.

Romperayo is a musical journey through Colombian tropical folklore of the second half of the 20th century, a mischievous and modern interpretation of the up-tempo rhythms of Descarga , Guaracha , Afrobeat and the psychedelic sounds of 70s Cumbia .
Led by drummer Pedro Ojeda , the “capitán” of the new generation of Colombian percussionists who also plays in Frente Cumbiero, Ondatrópica , Los Pirañas, Chúpame El Dedo and Mucho Indio, Romperayo’s novel approach to tropical rhythms has conquered the international live scene with 3 European tours in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The band has released 4 albums and 3 singles to date, on 5 different labels from the UK, the US, Japan and France.
By cleverly incorporating urban sounds and sampling techniques into Colombian music of the past decades, Romperayo embodies the avant-garde of the country’s modern music scene.
