Darren “Daz” Jones, known as Mister Jones, began his DJ career in Leeds at age 14, spinning vinyl records in his bedroom before landing his first club gig in Harrogate by his late teens. Inspired by festivals like Creamfields and Glastonbury, he developed a deep understanding of the dance floor, crafting dynamic sets that blend Piano, Soulful, Jackin, Vocal, House, and NuDisco, resonating with music lovers worldwide.

At the ripe age of 21, Daz set up his own business in both the trade and retail sectors of the interiors and building trade. The lessons he learned during this time proved invaluable, with many of the skills being transferable to the music industry. These experiences have been a huge asset and no doubt played a significant role in his growth within the industry. This business acumen has been pivotal in co-founding the popular FML (Funk My Life) events in Yorkshire, which have since expanded their reach internationally and started to become a recognised name in the dance music scene.

With time as brand manager for Love to be... and funkyLove, Daz demonstrated his talent for organising and promoting major events. In a standout moment, he played a key role in securing the site for Love to be...’s first festival in Harrogate, which drew nearly 4,000 attendees and featured icons like Roger Sanchez and Barbara Tucker. His passion for creating unforgettable experiences shines through, having been directly or indirectly involved in organising over 80 events in 2024 alone.

In 2024, Mister Jones expanded his influence, sharing the decks with household names, including House legends Marshall Jefferson and Mousse T, and becoming a fixture in Ibiza’s music scene, with standout performances at Café Del Mar. Daz’s syndicated weekly radio show, Mister Jones Presents Release Your Inner Funk, airs on LDC Radio Leeds and platforms like Spotify and Ibiza Club News, connecting him to a global audience.
