Week 2 of our new REC.ROOM LIVE series saw us welcome Malissa and Alien Izz, both residents for Sisu, a 30+ strong collective of artists, creatives and DJs based out of Liverpool.

First up, founder and resident of Sisu Malissa showcased an array of lush, warm House grooves before catapulting into a finale of wobbly acid numbers with an electro garnish to match.

Closing us out, Sisu resident and label boss of Space Bunny Records, Alien Izz flicked on the boosters and headed for psychedelic and progressive trance, navigating the outer rim for an anthemic finish to an otherworldly evening spent live in the REC.ROOM.

Today’s premiere lands squarely on the shoulders of Peter Kersten aka Lawrence. Our long-term love affair with his work hasn’t changed a bit through the years, as his music is always in the crates. Additionally to see his latest as a return to the legendary Smallville, only good things must await.

In its entirety, the Gravity Hill EP encompasses all that we’ve come to love about Lawrences’ work, the wobbly bass lines, ethereal floaty moments, all wrapped in a minimal, pristine percussion package. The groove, the essence, leads to wonderful moments both on and off the dance floor. Subtly is the name of this game.

Stargazer rounds out the EP which, as the label states, shifts back to a more straight, dance floor oriented feel via a twitchy acid bass, circling resonant synth licks, hypnotic textures and a swinging drum groove. Definitely one for those early morning vibes, as the sun rises on another day and the people party on.

Stargazer, and the rest of the Gravity Hill EP will be released on March 1st.

Distant Worlds welcomes back Sound Synthesis for a second outing of warm, melodic electro. Fine attention to detail, crisp sonics and deep bass complete the package for an exploration of harmony across all 4 tracks.

‘Unification Exploration’ opens with mind bending acidic lines and dark cavernous bass complimented by uplifting and contrasting countermelodies. ‘Be Humble’ is an invitation to pair organic, warm buss pulses with crisp percussion, hypnotic synth lines and heartbreaking pads and strings.

The B side is equally strong kicking off with title track, ‘Unification of Harmony’ – a true delve into form, function, and astral melodies. Ascendant synths draw the listener in while the majestic growling synth bass and twisted acid patterns herald a dancefloor smasher. We end with ‘Dear Ballacid’, dedicated to a true hero of the underground techno world and his fantastic YouTube channel. All the ingredients of a true classic are here; thoughtful and futuristic, emotive and punchy, sure to leave not a dry eye in the house.

Polish born, Alpine raised & Berlin based co-founder of OSBA Records & LOSER Records, RSO Resident and party boy extraordinaire. Being born in the year when he was there. As the illegitimate son of Frederic Chopin, Michal was secretly given a first-class musical education by his world famous brother Thomas and cousin Michal W.. Michal began learning the ways of these future people and found his calling in a modern form of music called House that oddly reminded him of the rhythms he learned when he was a child. Perfecting his technique in the local discoteques of Southern Germany, Michal moved to Berlin to immerse himself in the thriving music scene and found his way into „Renate” where he became from 2012 - 2021 his residency. Since 2021 he´s playing nowadays & nights at RSO Club where his residency is.
