Track 01. The Tracks of My Tears 

The original song is written by Smokey Robinson, Pete Moore, and Marv Tarplin. It is a multiple award-winning 1965 hit R&B song originally recorded by their group, The Miracles, on Motown's Tamla label. I combined the vocals with warm Rhodes and some sweet saxophone samples to keep the old school soul-like vibe. Also added hard hitting snares, raw kicks, bongo loops and a funky bass guitar for a modern touch. 

Track 02. Motives & Thoughts 

Original spoken words by Lauryn Hill at Def Poetry. 
Lauryn Hill is perhaps better known for her singing and rapping than for her poetry, but here she delivers a powerful lyric in tight rhyming couplets which focuses on social evils and ways to overcome them. I combined the vocals with positive Disco vibes, uplifting drums and a 70s LoFi-compressed Brickhouse Bassline to finish off the built momentum.  

Track 03. Beef

Original by Dante Terrell Smith better known as Mos Def.
I used an amplifier to give that crispy warm fuzzy sound to the vocals, added some distorted guitar loops with the occasional Phaser for modern touch. Rock ‘n Roll drums combined with bongos to give this track a jungle vibe.

Track 04. Shootouts with a Machine Gun Funk 

Original vocals by Nas & Biggie.
I used a mind penetrating FX Texture to give this track a Deephouse feeling, with jungle drums for uplifting moments and WahWah guitar samples to keep the Rock vibe going on. I used a smooth Expander, combined with Spreader to make the vocals drift deep inside the FX Texture. 

Track 05. The Pitstop 

Original vocals are from an ancient Native American Peyote song. Honestly I don’t really know what happened here for my mind wasn’t exactly on this planet while making this music… This track will definitely alter your state of mind. Enjoy your trip! 

Track 06. Still Into You

Original vocals by Hayley Williams from Paramore. 
I used heavy distorted guitar riffs, hazy FX tunes and modulated bells for a powerful start. The old school raw Hip-hop bassline comes in to build momentum and finally this track ends in an uptempo vivacious ensemble of modulated Flutes and Bells to finish off this EP in style!
