I would describe myself as a dabbler on Concertina/Melodeon and anything else that comes to hand. Which recently due to my concertinas going on travels has been the baritone ukulele. Sadly I was born with a great love of music, but alas (sigh)also with very a low level of musical competence :-). However, I very much enjoy creating new tunes.

I have a theory, which may be fanciable to many, that the best traditional music IS the essence of the landscape it was conceived in. I find some traditional tunes have this rare ability to transcend time and space - I have experienced this many times not for it to be true.  I hope the the spirit of Herefordshire and the Welsh borders is using me accordingly :-)Maybe, maybe not, though I have forged a strong connection with the landscape around here,  just wish it had chosen a more competent musician to convey the message :-) 

Of late I have returned to dabbling on the ukulele - 4 strings is as much as I can cope with - especially as two of them are an octave apart.

This has led to stumbling upon an acoustic guitar bass in the local guitar trading centre - mucho enjoying this and can't think why it has taken so long to get down low man :-)
