Safar Group consists of different cultural and musical background, who met at Dhow Countries Music Academy (DCMA) in Zanzibar 2004. Safar chose to focus on similarities and create a fusion of the Zanzibar music they carry with them. Safar Group try to preserve traditional music, Afro beat, Taarab, kidumbaki, Ngoma and Arabic music all blend as style in a special experience.
