The versatile lyrical flow of Jesus Mason blended with manipulative instrumentals produced by musician Musa, have managed to cross the barriers through their dedication to remain artists first. Both developing a passion for music at an early age, these cousins fell hard for the genre of Hip-Hop and the “realness “ of its Pioneers. The purchase of a keyboard in New York City by Musa and Jesus Mason on the Upper Norwest side of Washington, D.C. developing his signature metaphoric style became outlets of self-fulfillment of the art form they together would vow forever to protect. After many road trips to meet for studio sessions, Jesus made the decision to make New York his permanent home where he and Musa officially joined forces and became the group “D.C.N.Y”. An addiction to being in the studio lead to the debut and instant hit of the title track “Spanish Fly”. D.C.N.Y received much deserved notoriety from mainstream Hip-Hop and the opportunity to open the stage for those same pioneers they once admired. D.C.N.Y then changed direction crafting another success with the project, Sputnik Brown. Refreshing the current music game with a full on audience attack, D.C.N.Y continues to create without limits, elevating the human range of expression and activity the only way they know how, naturally.
