All sets performed in front of unsuspecting audiences at various events around Finland, or at home, usually just for the pleasure of it but sometimes to experiment, improvise and exercise, for later narcissistic listening - but above all for the pleasure it gives.

I find that I prefer to build sets with a chaotic yet controlled process: nothing is planned in advance, the number of records I have is always N times more than is needed; knowing the next track is extremely rare, so there's a lot of back-and-forth, trying on different tracks for the transition, then making it work both technically and musically, building tension and providing release while trying to fail as little as possible and fueling the flow.

A lot of the sets are named after books written by some of my favourite authors. They're not soundtracks for the books, though they occasionally attempt to reflect emotional states I've experienced while reading them.

I owe a debt of gratitude towards all artists and labels on whose shoulders my sets are standing on. You make things possible.

Raised in a quiet farming town in Illinois, Lily’s first outings with electronic music began after relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, co-founding the Diacritic Collective - a group of music devotees passionate about vinyl culture - and later landing a residency at the long-running As You Like It parties. Fast forward ten years later and Lily resides in Berlin where she has unleashed her dexterous selection of techno, electro and leftfield electronics at institutions like Tresor, Pornceptual and Bewegungsfreiheit. Her production career spans over a decade, including releases on Perfect Location Records, Vinyl Dreams Records, As You Like It Recordings and compilations by HÖR Music, Bewegungsfreiheit and Perimeter Junk. The 6th entry in our podcast series comes courtesy of @anphonik .

For our podcast he delivers a mixing masterclass recorded on 3 turntables, with sounds ranging from dub records with house sonorities to fast driving and repetitive techno, while maintaining a solid groove and a funky touch.

The young Italian DJ started collecting records in his early teens. A few years ago he relocated to Berlin to pursue a degree in sound engineering and dive deeper into the sounds of techno. He is highly technical, playing strictly vinyl sets, and his mixing style draws inspiration from legends such as Jeff Mills - with layers of sound built on top of quick cuts.

Nuutti-Iivari Meriläinen aka dcom (@dcommunications) was born immersed into a world of music, starting with classical music studies at an early age and playing multiple instruments as a teen. His interest towards electronic dance music and away from the popular was kindled by a trip to Ibiza at the tender age of 14, kickstarting an obsession to refine an already eclectic taste in music. dcom has been playing a wide variety of electronic music for almost 30 years from his meticulously curated collection ranging from ambient soundscapes to rhythmic industrial noise.

"This podcast is mainly made up of dance-floor focused bangers that I'm liking at the moment - it's a pretty good representation of how I play at the club with a mixture of dark/hard more industrial tracks with some moments of fun and euphoria in between. It starts off pretty dark and industrial, and then calms down and provides some brighter sounds in the middle, returning to the dark sounds at the end. I feel like it also shows the linkages between the different eras of techno - there is tracks from the 90s, from the early- to mid- 2000s and from today in there.

I'm always trying to tell more of a 'story' when I DJ and try to show off a diverse mixture of sounds - and how they relate to one another. Sticking to one style has always been incredibly boring for me - I hate seeing one-dimensional DJ sets and I also hate playing DJ sets in just one style. I think this mix, like all my mixes, reflects that desire for eclecticism in DJing. Really the DJs I look to for inspiration are more those crazy people that could play anything at any time in a set - people like Optimo when it comes to house music, or someone like Parrish Smith with harder sounds".
