This song is for anyone who's ever lost someone. A friend, a loved one, or even an appreciated acquaintance, whether it was due to; lies, deceit, betrayal, drugs, mental illness, drunk driving, greed, gossip, money, or anything else imaginable in this wild world we live in today. The underlying message here is to forgive. I know forgetting sometimes seems unreachable, but if you can find it in your heart to forgive and let it be, you will free yourself from the shackles that restrain you from progressing. This track hits home for me personally, because as many of you know, I was diagnosed at age 20 with bipolar disorder. An illness I knew hardly anything about, and one that I did not discover until after the fact, has trickled down my family tree. When I was in recovery I was a completely different person. That scared people. It terrified me. For almost three years I struggled to come to grips with the undeniable truth that I may never be the same again. I lost friends, loved ones, and even gave off first impressions to people that months before I never would have. I felt as if I had lost the world, besides Bailey (my loyal companion), my family, and a few close friends that stuck with me through and through. Since then I have worked tirelessly to improve my life in a variety of ways to battle this disease, everything from physical exercise and eating healthy, to regularly practicing my religion and spirituality. I learned to appreciate what means most, and to forgive those who couldn't understand. My only wish is that this song can help others to do the same...
