For An Taobh Tuathail's 25 year celebrations, all tracks played from Monday 29th April to Friday May 3rd were worldwide debuts from artists that we admire, who very kindly contributed with unreleased cuts.

This is the midweek edition - from Wednesday May 1st - the same date the show first began broadcasting in 1999.

Some of the tracks have since been released, but at the time of broadcast, they had never been heard outside of the artists's studios.

ATT  broadcasts Monday to Friday on RTÉ RnaG.
I post occasional programmes here to showcase the diversity of music played on the show, but also as a kind of audio-flyer to woo new listeners.

I have a bit of a running theme going at the moment with naming songs after the main synth I used on it. Last time round, it was the Yamaha SK-10. This time, it's U-he's fantastic TyrellN6. https://u-he.com/products/tyrelln6/

Here's where another running theme starts, this time a Blade Runner theme. This synth's name is a combination of Eldon Tyrell, founder of the Tyrell Corporation, and the N6 (or Nexus 6) replicants who were the pinnacle of android technology/rebelling robot slaves in the film. 

The name of this synth always makes me think of the scene where Deckard meets Tyrell (and Rachael) for the first time and the enigmatic Tyrell asks him to demonstrate the Voight-Kamff test. 

Tyrell asks him to see what a negative test looks like before he provides him with a positive. 

What's that gonna prove, Deckard asks. 

"...Indulge me", he replies.
