Breaking Into Berghain

Student assignment to create a 90 second percussive track using only recorded non-drum sounds.

Themed around making food quickly, the sounds used were: an oven door closing, a measuring cup, some measuring spoons, a mixing bowl and water on a hot pan.

Student project. Inspired by the ways in which sound transforms throughout its journey to being heard and understood by us. From electrical arcs to airwaves, to digital recording, back through the air, through ours ears and into brain signals. Ultimately, only the recording is left.
