AADJA - Falling In A Dream (D.Dan Remix) OUT NOW!

My track on the Amniote x Ute Fundraiser Compilation. 
All the proceeds will be donated to The Red Van: a volunteer-run NGO working with harm reduction and human rights for street based sex workers in Copenhagen.

"Sidewinder" is my reptilian alias for Mama Snake's label, Amniote Editions. All artists are invited to create their own reptilian alter ego for the project. My last release there was the "Ripple Effect" EP in 2019. I first met her in Autumn 2018 in Copenhagen to play at Jolene, as well as attend in-person sessions for the mastering+lacquer cut for the record. We mastered with Joel at Six Bit Deep and cut the lacquer with Hari (HVAD) at Kommunal Dubplate. Proper stuff. Few weeks later we shared the lineup on Sustain Release Festival in NYC, it was all a blast. 

I had the pleasure to first meet the Ute crew in Spring 2019, playing their club night at Blå in Oslo. Already had a good feeling when they picked me up from the airport and were playing Global Communication while driving through misty evergreen trees. Oslo freakishly reminded me a lot of my hometown of Seattle, just a bit less mountainous and hilly. That summer, we shared a lineup in Säule Berghain and at the end of season I was invited to play at one of their forest parties (bless) alongside their residents and Alpha Tracks - it was a really fun run! :~)

like a pup in summer.

D.Dan launches his own label, summerpup, as a home for his unique blend of deep, groovy, rolling sounds steeped in psychedelia. The label’s playful name and mantra derives from heritage knowledge from his Korean roots passed down by his mother, based on his time of birth.

Release date: Dec.03.2021

**Currently the vinyl industry is experiencing delays of 8-12+ months in production times, without solid guarantee of a release date. I find this just too long to delay getting the music out to the people, so I have decided to go forth with releasing the digital files now, with the vinyl to come next year when production has finished. I appreciate your patience and understanding! x

“D.Core” is inspired by an epiphany I had while on the dancefloor. I had an uncanny feeling of deja vu, identical to how I felt in my days playing drums to locked-groove metalcore breakdowns. The satisfaction of a double kick, cracking snare, syncopated chords, and metallic cymbal is a feeling I wanted to hybridize and translate for the club.

Haven is a place of safety, warmth, and comfort. 


Something a little different from my last few mixes - many of you know me for faster uptempo club mixes, but I also love and dig a lot of slower hypnotic tracks since I started DJing in 2007. I wanted to make a paced-out mix that I could really sink into and feel safe to tap into states of intimacy and warmth.

This mix was recorded on July 26 during one of Clara Tatjana and I's long music sessions in my studio. We were jamming to tunes and she contributed many awesome selections to the tracklist <3

With the current wave of lockdowns and many gig cancellations, I thought it fitting to share this feeling as we all incubate for the next.

All proceeds from this release will go directly to charities working to create safe sleeping spaces for homeless migrants, trans, inter and queer health care and people with disabilities in Berlin as well as various charities in Ukraine.

What a ride. Cracking night at Mokedo, Seattle with the secondnature crew, Anastasia Kristensen and CCL, and the inimitable Seattle techno community. 150 venue capacity (dancefloor + upstairs loft area), super clean + powerful Danley sound system, low light, raw vibe. 

A treat to really stretch out for 3 hours and rinse the room through so many paces >:)
