Simon Hinter @simonhinter may be a new name to many but this DJ and producer based in Germany already put out a handful of releases over the past ten years. On his Freerange debut entitled "Tired Up", he delivers four brilliant original tracks, demonstrating his versatility and skills in putting together fresh jams to work the dancefloors (in a near future). 

Here we share with you "Lifestreams", a classic MPC jam, cutting up some bass and stabs riff and re-sequencing into a high-energy, rolling workout. 

The title track "Tired Up" is a sleazy, low-slung filtered groover which works up a looped guitar riff, throbbing sub bass and driving disco drums. It is minimal, yet primed and ready to draw you onto the floor. "Heaven & Hell" goes in a deeper direction, going heavy on emotive chords, Moog line and fat claps. Things wind down with "Looking Back", a hazy, warm and sundrenched sound, sitting in between Nightmares On Wax and Session Victim. 

Definitely one of the best - if not the best - release from Freerange Records this year so far, and clearly a producer to keep both eyes on.

We know house music has always been made from the heart and for the floor. Whilst Loure's music adheres to this hackneyed creed, it exists beyond simply the confines of one genre. His jazz-infused, house cuts have previously found homes on labels such as Delicieuse Musique, Apparel Music, and Slothboogie. An oscillating live performer, Loure can be found in the middle of a flurry of hardware for his solo live shows, behind the platters for his DJ sets, or conducting a full live band setup that is riddled with brass, guitars, keys, and infectious improvisation.

Marking a slightly new direction for the young up-and-comer, ‘Outta 106’ is made up of 6 soulful collaborations between Loure and some of Melbourne's best-kept secrets -surfacing the stunning talent and beauty that is the Melbourne underground. The intro track ‘Comin Thru’ opens with lush and sweeping strings, blended with a sultry horn line that leads to rich and tempered vocals, warming your soul and guiding you through to the following track. Without hesitation ‘Rotate’ drops into a swinging 4/4 groove, accompanied by classy sax melodies, uplifting piano, and soulful vocals that together build into a thumping house cut, filling your heart and the floor. Moving deeper into the release, ‘Curbside Glow’ maintains the momentum - opening with an infectious guitar riff that dances over the top of smooth jazz keys, expressive and emotive vocals eventually steal the light to form a track that's only intention could be to make you feel. Flipping to the B side 'The Walk Home' introduces a slightly new direction, with delicate keys and a complex DNB style beat, the standard is matched with luscious strings and a burning sax solo that drives listeners into the deeper side of the release. 'Heavyweight Sinner' stays focused with another UK Jazz style cut, keeping the groove solid with a broken-beat, lulling melodies are complimented by warming guitar, the track peaking with an impressive bass solo. Closing things out, 'Talking Circles' rounds off the release with elevating ambiance, emotive strings, and one final burst of soaring brass to create a euphoric and memorable ending to what is a stunning EP.  Loure ‘Outta 106’ drops via Nothin Personal on 17th July 2020.
