In the first lockdown two well-known artists of the dark and jungle drum and bass scene started a collaboration to work on a new sound. So the project Aikanã was born. They have already released music on labels like @kurnugu and @zod-dnb. But until now the real identities behind Akainã are unknown.

Bonin

Once a legendary samurai roamed around urban Japan, during a time of great turmoil, his name was shrouded in mystery. He was known only as Bonin and his skill and rhythmic precision with his art were said to be unmatched. And though his story would be told and retold for generations to come, no one ever knew where he had come from or how he had traveled through time.

All they knew was that the Bonin was a warrior without equal.

Starting out as a Drum and Bass night series in Leipzig (Germany) with focus on mainly deep, dark, yet experimental aspects of the genre and DNB-related music such as Footwork, 160 BPM, Dark Jungle and so on, the Dark Drum&Bass Convention has become an DNB institution in the local scene with regular events, but also an independent platform for different DJs and Labels that share the same interest in this music and B2B DJ-culture.

DDNBC is all about the scene as a family and connecting. With the launch of a podcast series that does strictly feature DJs that have been playing at one of the past events already, this concept might become even more evident. As the family is growing, we are proud to already have featured artists such as ZeroZero, DLR, Hydro, War, Silent Witness, Ruffhouse, Survey, Unreal Project and LXC.
