Nervous Horizon is delighted to welcome New York-based producer and DJ Ma Sha to the roster with a high-voltage three-track EP titled "Elastik".

For her Nervous Horizon debut, the Kindergarten' honcho immerses herself in a solitary sonic journey drawing inspiration from the concept of self-isolation-induced time distortion and the interplay of the diverse rhythms intertwining in her environment. From the quick motion of people outside her Ridgewood apartment juxtaposed with the slow, fluid movements of her indoor plants, to the intense traffic on Myrtle Ave contrasting the flowing red light shadows on her studio walls, Ma Sha blends warped reality and sound exploration forming the perfect collage.

Shaping her distinct solo sound with a focus on finding a balance between her critical thinking and intuition, each track resonates with different emotional states. By aligning heavily time-stretched elements with chopping and granulation techniques, Ma Sha skillfully incorporates the altered time concept within the tracks' structure. If "KV December" mirrors unpredictable emotional fluctuations, in both "Myrtle Warp" and "Psyspi" vocal textures' shifts and layered synths co-exist with bold and sharp percussion. Accompanied by a fresh take by Ehua on one of the originals, the EP unravels around a warped perception of time while consistently maintaining the playful atmosphere that defines Ma Sha's personality and the music that truly inspires her.

‘The Immaterium is a strange and terrible place. You might as well throw a traveller into a sea of sharks and tell him to swim home send him through The Warp unprotected.’

With “Warp Sharks”, UK producers Eyeza and Diessa join forces for a blood-curdling 4-tracker. Inspired by Warhammer 40K characters and lore, this boundary pushing EP combines dark themes of the 40K world with heavy club-focused weaponry.

“The Warp” is an alternate dimension of chaos and psychic energy underlying the material universe. It is simultaneously understood to be a medium by which faster-than-light interstellar travel is possible. “Warp Sharks” could be said to evoke these elements; high-bpm drum breaks throughout the record emulate a sense of frenetic speed while manic synth progressions and energy blasts build towards a sense of peril. Within each composition, multiple rave-friendly genres are saturated under a blanket of distortion and impact. The record opens with “Karandras,” where eerie vocals, arpeggios and heavy drums flow in and out of each other, with intermittent waves of static and sci-fi warble. “Penitent Engine” begins the next phase: gritty wobbles and drum breaks combine under washes of dramatic ambience before teasing in and out of a heavy techno beat. The track morphs into something more vicious two-and-a-half minutes in, where stuttering breaks come to the fore, supported by kicks and 808s that swarm rapidly in elaborate club rhythms. The title track follows with intricate breaks steadily firing over heavy bass lines. “Nuns with Guns” concludes the record, where gabber kicks snap through dub inspired vocal chops and fluttering snares.

The record’s relentless energy evolves with every track, each composition seamlessly blending genres of underground electronic music. “Warp Sharks”, like many Infinite Machine releases, is unapologetically experimental, while remaining accessible to dance floors.

Capiuz returns on the label with a new club-ready album that slashes through a nocturnal forest
landscape with fluorescents and violent bursts of color. Taking its name from a series of paintings
called “Bande di Fiori Notturni” by Italian artist Alice Visentin, the project goes through a wide array of
influences and bpms. Terra Nuda (naked earth) acts as an opener fusing a foggy drone with drum
breaks and dance hall syncopations. Hectic follows up with a more bass oriented attitude incarnated
in a heavy pounding kick pattern and driven by metallic drums with a restless spirit. The sounds and
textures of Fiori Notturni are heavily inspired by the works of John Cage and his use of percussive
instruments for both rhythmic and textural purposes. These influences become pretty clear in slower
cuts like Black Needle and the title track, where jingles, rattles and other high-pitched instruments
create a moving bed for the rhythmic section. Other works such as 0400 and the collaboration with
label head B E N N, Lunar Eclipse, bring a faster pace to the project with a higher focus on rhythmic
layering. Before giving its way to the Ancestral Vision remix, the “night” is closed off by Hallucinogen,
a longer track driven by a steady kick that plays with different odd timed patterns to create an exciting
and enveloping trip.

'The idea of the remix project sort of implied itself along the creation of the album: since I treated creating music as planning journeys in ‘cities’ that are made out of several dozens of sonic building blocks, I quickly realized that besides releasing music as ‘finished’ tracks, I very much wanted to share my experience of discovering such journeys with my fellow artists as well.

I believe this project opens up the structures and possibilities of ‘Automated Dances’, where each producer reacts true to their own artistic values and aesthetics. Exploring, experimenting and reconstructing is the very nature of what we do - with ‘AD Remixes’ we wanted to share the joy and excitement of all of these creative processes. At the same time, I consider ’AD Remixes’ to be a celebration of some of my dearest artists living and working in the cutting-edge electronic music scene today.

Let me thank all of you who contributed to this project, you are truly inspiring me to think and feel about music in many different ways. And obviously, a huge thanks goes for EXILES label-boss Erik: without your persistent help and support, this project would be a non-existent one.'
