The story continues for the republic after a forced hiatus! The troupe of vagabonds have gathered once more, scheming and plotting an escape from this dimension into planets and galaxies far far away. Places uninhabited by politicians, a decentralised free world where there is enough for all and everyone is connected, that is the Republic.

First up, an astral travelling outfit of mysterious origins and sizeable orbits, 'The Planetts' drop an ode to space travel, with the silky vocals Ciaran Gribbin on 'To The Moon'. Beginning with melodic pads and smooth vocal harmonies, look for an unexpected turn that may appeal to your techno soul. Ciaran has a rich history of songwriting having been nominated for a Grammy in 2010 whilst penning music for Madonna and Paul Oakenfold, in addition fronting legendary Australian rock band INXS since 2012.

Track 2 sees Los Angeles based Ant J Steep drop a classic house tune with a vocal sample from an interview with a singer of mass appeal, can you pick who it is? You will find yourself on a journey immersed in the masterfully pitched, rhythmically programmed vocal stabs, cruising in a sonic submarine radiating technicolour, whilst navigating a story of frequency and sympathetic vibration. Jump on for the ride!

The last piece of the story is completed by a newcomer in his debut release, originally from ol Blightly but now ensconced in a green valley just north of Sydney, we see 'butters' release his first tune, warm on rhythms, blended with some big uplifting strings to deliver a dancefloor experience that will have you dreaming and shaking your booty at the same time.

To The Moon (Original Mix) - The Planetts

During peak pandemic days in 2020, there was a sizeable exodus from Australia's locked down major cities towards the free open and creative promised lands of Byron Bay. Among the species trekking North was a curious one that no-one had ever seen before.   

Then one late Saturday night in the hinterlands of tha Bay, this unique prowess was spotted occasionally popping up at house parties in the area. Fortune had it that one of our Reckless Republic A&R scouts spotted this nocturnal life form setting up an impressive habitat for its performance. Including a Moog sub37, an Elektron machine drum, a Prophet 6 synthesiser, a Roland TR8S, an Akai APC40, an electric guitar and last but not least a saxophone. As we watched on with amazement anticipating seeing a group of these rare creatures, it soon became clear that only one of them was to appear, it was a one-of-a-kind 24 y/o male, his name, Quackers.    

Like the Cosmic Dingo itself (title of track 3), since those fateful days in Byron Shire, Quackers has been seen snacking on a good dose of groovy house  sounds, occasionally whirling into techno and beyond; raw, groovy, dreamy, swampy, glitchy with overlays of organic instrumentation, this EP has it all. 

A few months later, a visit to the Reckless Republic HQ in Paddington, Sydney to perform his jaw-dropping live show for the Burning Man MultiVerse worldwide stream followed by some intense sessions in 'the Planettarium' studio meant that finally we could expose this rare breed of talent to the world.

Producer and audio engineer Francisco Garcia aka Daeve KHz joins forces with Kimse to provide Kognitiv Records with a heavy hitting EP comprising three original tracks and enlisting a slew of talents for remix duties: DeVante, Kimse, Saul Bliss and Sobhan.

Title track The Bronze Race is a brooding groover, launching off the release smoothly in a dubby manner. KR boss DeVante reinterprets it into a suspense-filled remix adding soothing strings and flourishing crescendo pads. Persian-born, Australia-based producer and DJ Sobhan adds his own mark on the track, using gliding melodies and organic, warm percussion. Daeve KHz collaborator Kimse also adds his own interpretation of the title track, channeling a glitched out atmosphere through metallic whirlwind synths and buzzy elements.
&Pride offers up some highly atmospheric dub grooves, both in its original form as well as Kimse's acid tinged remix.
Heritage finds itself on the darker side of the techno spectrum, with lofty pads and squirming vocal chops, giving it a raw appeal.

Kognitiv Records will donate a percentage of profits from every release to a different mental health charity in an effort to create further awareness and provide support to people suffering from mental illness.

Recline Music founder Nicco ND returns on the label this April, delivering his grooving
single 'Lost Universe', accompanied by a remix from Javonntte.
Florence native Nicco (N.D) is a long-standing player within the house music scene. Producing since the late 90s, he has previously performed as a singer and guitarist before joining forces alongside Ivano Coppola to launch their Recline Music imprint. He has worked with DJ T., Oxia, Clarian and many others, whilst releasing over one-hundred tracks and gaining support from Marco Carola, Joris Voorn and Steve Bug.
The remixer of this package is Detroit-based Javonntte. Since the early nineties, he has been producing music and has collaborated with legendary producers including Blake Baxter, Amp Fiddler and Andres in his formative years, whilst his solo releases have landed on Quintessentials, Traxx Underground and Kai Alce's NDATL.
'Lost Universe' is a glistening deep house track that effortlessly combines luscious chords with rising
pads and blissful keys to transport listeners on a hypnotic journey. Javonntte's interpretation reveals a
feel-good affair, as fathomless bassline sequences fuse with kinetic drum programming and dubby
chords - wrapping up this enchanting offering in style.

Maverick DJ/producer Riva Starr burst on to the house music scene in 2009, impressing a wide variety of fans with his cheeky productions and remixes which straddled genres, tempos and geographical inspirations. Now the man born Stefano Miele is pleased to announce the release of ‘Absence’, the first single from his forthcoming sophomore album ‘Hand in Hand’.

‘Absence’ shows off Riva Starr’s indie background and is probably his most mature work to date. Mixed by Ash Workmann of Metronomy fame, this quirky love song features vocals by ex-The Research singer Russell Searle. Initially drafted in with the sole intention of penning a few top-lines, his quirky infectious interpretation soon conquered all, and so RSSLL came to be.

The video for ‘Absence’ comes from Milan-based director Virgilio Villoresi, an award winning “artisan” filmmaker whose bizarre influences (from Polish animators to US underground arts) are clearly reflected in the intriguing final product.

Throughout 2012, Riva Starr graced venues such as Manchester’s Warehouse Project, Watergate (Berlin), ElRow (Barcelona) as well as hosting his “Snatch! Records” tent at Creamfields and Tomorrowland. Check him out on the 15th of February at a rare Fabric appearance.

With the release of ‘Hand In Hand’ this summer, 2013 is set to be an even bigger year for Riva – watch this space…

About the edit : " "I first got to know to this song via my friend Markus who introduced the Global Village's album to me. I fell instantly in love with the vocals and percussions of the Robenji Doom Doom track. In my edits there is always a functional reason why I start making one. The original track was too restless for my taste and I decided to make a bit deeper and darker than the original was. 
Vocals and percussion was the core and I made the edit around them. I added new drums and made new baseline and synth melodies. I did a massive restructuring in the song's structure and played with some effects. All the elements clicked together very well and fast I was really happy with the result. The edit works really well in the early hours in the club and also as played a bit faster in the peak time hours. Definitely one of the best edits I have made so far. "
