In the midst of ‘a journey into the electronic music universe’, Fancy Inc declare their own version of New Year’s resolution, the Brazilians kick-starting Clarisse’s 2016 campaign to follow a blockbuster 12 months for all concerned.

The green and gold pair of Dub Fragments and Matheus R made 2015 a stellar year with an appearance at the Amsterdam Dance Event, in addition to making continental advantage count in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, holding it down in the Dominican Republic, and having rustled up rapports on labels such as King Street Sounds, La Musique Fantastique and Go Deeva.

South American steel comes with a hunger to leave dancefloors heaving, done with a particular old skool aesthetic where marching basslines leave feet blistered, and tech-plated beats are set to chug with the grip of a bear hug. Just off confrontational with its funkiness fully flexed, ‘That Records’ is the one Fancy Inc want on everyone’s lips and decks. Bristling with energy, bumping a churning bottom end (if any older heads remember Coldcut’s ‘Work Me Trak’, you’re in the right era), and razor sharp with its climactic builds, patrolling chords and explosive breakdown, the vibe demands a hard sweat that leaks into ‘Down to This’.

Tooled with a second pressuring of bass in no mood to politely wait its turn, and a vocal sample that does loving sentiment the hard way, Fancy Inc’s go-hard-or-go-home route fills ‘Down to This’ with drum rolls and a fistful of chords on uncompromising back up. Both tracks guarantee you’ll never get the idea of ‘fancy’ twisted again.

Clarisse leaves the Paradise provided by Secondcity and follows the sounds of the suburbs. Theres nothing sleepy to be found here though, mainly because its ringmaster is never found standing on the periphery. Charles Ramirez has gone from ruling the finest Northern Spain has to offer, to heading his own Hall of Fame label, racking up a discography that runs into three figures, spending years and years on the airwaves, regularly charting as one of Beatports best customers As you can probably gather, the onetime DJ Patt has developed a work rate that puts slowcoaches to shame, supported by a host of top dollar names including Jamie Jones, Mark Knight and Hot Since 82, and dropping by Yousefs label Circus Recordings amongst a stack of others.

So what is the sound Ramirez has earmarked for suburbia? Though heavy on the kicks, Suburbs Sounds starts with a subtle scent of original Chicago about it with its handclap percussions and up-down bassline that has the bounce of a jumping bean trampoline. Pounding vocal stutters and a squelchy electro horn that will wheedle its way into your head for the whole summer, runs into a breakdown thatll have the neighbours round in no time. With an added touch of disco, its a big ball of sunny fun to have you hopping around.

The Big Bang fires a bassline that can be heard all over town; thats all the science this track needs, and all the invitation required to cause a dancefloor hold up. Funky but not to be taken lightly, its deep house busting a gut at the same time, featuring another toothy electro line that if you screw your ears hard enough is telling you to Play Those Vibes while calculating the ferocity of its next build. Just imagine the lovely young lady on the sleeve getting wild to this.

Coming up with his second single release for Formatik Records within only a few months is Daniel Levak – the German producer and festival promoter who worked summer floors hard with his label debut „Let's Go“ throughout the hot season and is now „Popping Bottles“ in celebration of his massive success.

The opening title track „Popping Bottles“ brings forth a quite dark'ish and brooding take on sample-driven TechHouse, based on super sharp hi-hats and gnarly sawtooth bass modulations for heaving peaktime dancefloors which get their extra thrill out of additional cowbell sequencing and larger than life snare rolls leading into even more muscular bass power.

With „Get Down“ we see Daniel Levak catering more of his hyper-seductive low end works, speeding up things a little whilst bringing down the house with fluttering, Klaxon'esque bass blasts especially created to shed blood on the Dancefloor and fully max out the capacity of big ass rave rigs all over the globe.
