‘A Plea To The Chaotic, A Kiss From The Deep’

‘98Warhol’ is an avant garde multimedia project by artist Alexander Steven Durow, centered around a 10 song LP and accompanied by a litany of visual and sonic perspectives based both in digital and physical environments. It was written, produced, and recorded by Durow from April 2021-May 2024. While the artist worked on and released multiple other projects during this time, it wasn’t until May of 2024 that Durow finally made the original 10 files for the album public, due in part to his friends leaking parts of the project.

The album was officially released to the world on May 27th, 2024. Its date numerically (5/27) is part of a larger motif on the time 5:27, which is mentioned multiple times throughout the album- most significantly in the sixth track ‘Amateur Pornography’, and the eighth track ‘Gorilla’. The term ‘98Warhol’ is in itself a thematic motif as well, in story, sonics, and meta commentary.
