The Sheffield based Persian prince of beats has recently been on the receiving end of big support from the likes of Four Tet, Paul Woolford James Zabeila and Pedestrian to name but a few. His beats come big and bleepy, with almost industrious techno funkiness running through his tracks that saw him get snapped up by Zabeila for his Born Electric label.  With his new EP due out 10th June, we thought it only right that Pedram go into the mix for i-D, delving into his collection with a selection of sounds designed to enrich your mind, body and soul.

The opening month was always the most difficult time of year. The cold wind howled down the misty morning streets and ice lay glazed upon the concrete. As he watched from his bedroom window he looked down upon the people walking to work. Their lives were so busy, so rushed, so hectic, so tense. Some January this would be, the coldest yet they'd said. Up here in the far north it was hard to find work, or the energy to survive, let alone prosper during the winter season. Some January this would be indeed. 

Nekhsa delivers Spinning Plates' third release. The highly anticipated record follows two well received EP's which first appeared on the label back in 2015. The release sees the talents of New York's DJ Spider who ramps up the pace in his own trademark style. This one is packed with weird fuzz and sludgey undertones.

Nekhsa's recent release with us has caused quite a stir. His unique take on electro is explored further here with a mix made entirely of his own music. Yep, every track made by Nekhsa and mixed exceptionally. Talent in abundance and not quite like anything else.
