Genre: Hardstyle (melodic)
Instrumentation/Sound Design: I made sure to start from scratch with every pad and bass synth. They were not presets because I wanted to do as much as possible. The hook synth was especially fun to make because it is so bright and present and really gives energy. The lead is super catchy and not quantized (can you hear "the ants come marching 2 by 2" in there??)
Techniques Used: Structured sections and continuous builds in the automation of each instrument. Very few additional percussion and sounds. No field recordings or live instruments except vocals.

Samples Used: Sherri Nicole (www.soundcloud.com/themeansto) sings. We recorded the section together in Philadelphia.
The vocals were recorded in Philadelphia with Sherri Nicole. The "baby" which is a Japanese girl covering a Japanese version of "Kiss from a Rose" (yeah, corny, but the baby sounds good).
Concept: Make a fast and energetic track with severe groove.
Influences: Honing skills in entirely new genres. Until this year, I never heard of Hardstyle or Hardcore before.
