I entered the TALENTisTIMELESS global song contest for songwriters over age 50 ...  They wanted entries to be raw, so I only put together midi, vocals, and choir.

 Here are the lyrics to the song ...

FORWARD (a rebirth)
(Verse 1)
Woke up today, my mind was still a yawnin'
Through the window, I could see the day a dawnin'
My eyes saw things that caused a panic inside me
I could not believe what was happening around me

(Verse 2)
Corruption and crime, the people there were starving
Politics and war, the people there were dying 
Where's the reason and logic that held us all together
The compassion for each other that helped us through the weather

(Bridge)
I fell down on my knees, my arms splayed towards infinity and I ran to hide

(Verse 3)
Climbing up a hill, escaping from the city
Struggled through the bramble, my life it wasn't pretty
I couldn't see the forest, I was blinded by the trees
And I stumbled through my life, not knowing what I need

(Verse 4)
What was happening to me was going on everywhere 
There's something that was missing, you could feel it wasn't there
Something holding us back so we couldn't evolve
An answer right in front of us, a problem to resolve

I fell down on my knees, my arms splayed towards infinity and I cried out

Forward, we can't move onward from this place
