The 1st Release for our new Groove Edits Series is provided by DJ and Producer Duo Novelty.

Cape Town born Craig Van Dijk & Daniel Singer formed Novelty in 2016 as a way to share their passion for upbeat music. The duo push a distinctive sound which is riddled in old school house and dub techno influences. They have slowly been sharing more of their productions, where they have since released music off Akronym, Rave Your Soul and City Bowl Wax Network. 

The pair have also co-founded Xylem, which is a monthly event hosted at the infamous Modular Cape Town. Here, the duo remain committed to pushing a high energy sound inspired by sounds from the 2000s, within the local scene.

The rest of his influences come mainly from hip-hop and other electronic movements, from which he takes his cues to create his own compositions - born to pound.
