So there it is. One day before the dealine. Like college all over again, eh? Only I'm NOT delivering it tomorrow because I won't have the time to nit pick anymore, I've got a gig to play.
But yeah, I entered this competition pretty much as soon as it opened, got started, then scrapped the project, and then I started working on a new one just less than a week ago.
Fuck. Me. It was hectic. XD

But I LOVE how it turned out, especially the... the... the part between 00:00 and 04:00. Anything after that sucks. Sorry Goldie.

I got the idea of fusing together our styles of his anthem-driven trance-style and my upbeat melodic dubstep-stuff to create something leaning towards what I'd call uplifting dubstep, or "upstep".

Soooooooo.. I just made this. Don't know why. But I like the song, and I learned a few things;
1. Adding a pressurizer on the overhead and room channel of the drum setup can have AMAZING results.
2. When dealing with a mix of rhythmical strummed guitar and vocals, try sidechaining the guitar with the vocals as a source. It might sound weird on paper, but it's quite effective!
3. That bass is fucking sexy.


Lyrics vary a LITTLE bit, I like adding my own touch to them. For example, I take a ferry to work, not a bus.

Yeap. Decided to revive "Caspersky", seeing as I need something else to identify myself as when I'm making this kind of music. Everything still falls under the "Dead Pixel Music" project, but it's just the artist name that changes. This might retroactively change some other tracks as well, but I'll get around to that later.
Case in point; The "Jenny" remix is still by Dead Pixel seeing as that was released under Studio Killer's own promotional flag.

This is a project that I did with Cl1tch, which was completed around the same time as "Far from over". But I hesitated in releasing it, since Cli1ch is a collaboration between Kine Gjeitrem Indrøy and me under the Caspersky flag. But this one was produced under the Dead Pixel flag, and thus it's not really "Cl1tch".
Regardless, I believe it was worth a release anyway, since it's so beautiful! ^^
Not quite Cl1tch, but hopefully it's still worth a listen! =3

There's been one thing on my mind recently.
Whenever I've been feeling troubled by something, stressed out, saddened, or just feel like I need to clear my head, I grab my keys and head down to my Ford. I rev up the engine and get it running nice and warm before heading to the street.
Where am I going? I don't really know.. I guess that in the end, I'm just going home. I just start from home, I end up at home, just a really long and winded, improvised detour.
But this helps me focus. Helps me think a bit more over things. See them more clearly. And just the feeling of the music booming in my speakers, the hum of the engine, the lights of the road washing over my dashboard as I drive through the night.. it's almost addictive.

I wanted to capture this feeling. Define it. Weave it into sound.
I do believe I've succeeded.

I like to think of it a bit differently. I like to think of it as being lost in deep space. Just like how we are down here on earth, even if we're stuck, we're still on a planet moving constantly through space. Every moment you feel like you're not getting anywhere, every second, you're covering 30 km of cosmic distance

We're all floating. Nobody knows where. But one should always take some time to just relax and.. take in the view. We're all traveling at the same pace, after all.

So! This is something I started making immediately after Norway was hit by a massive blizzard. Our house was completely snowed in, and the white just covered every inch of what this town is.
It all made me think about the days I had in Northern Norway at winter, no that many lights out to pollute the sky, you could just be way out there in the middle of a snow covered wasteland, in the middle of the night.

Take your skis off and lay down in the snow for a bit, let the moon shine on your face, and watch that ever-beautiful aurora dance before your eyes..
That was childhood for me.

I'M BACK.

So this is something I've been meaning to do for a LONG time, ever since I used Katy Perry as a test for vocals way back many years ago.
But I never really completed anything with those vocals.

But the last few months, I've been making a few more realizations about myself as a musician;
1. I'm a lot better at melodic stuff like dubstep-infused futurebass, rather than pure dubstep mayhem.
2. I'm better at remixing than most other things, really. One of the biggest issues I have in music production, is composition, and remixing really gives me that base-line that I need.
3. I need need to start learning more from people like Barely Alive and Virtual Riot. It helped a lot in this project.

So here it is. Remix. Yay. Fun.
Who cares if it doesn't get popular, I had fun making it.
Hopefully you'll have fun listening to it.
