I wrote the lyrics to this song in May 2024 in anticipation of a concert Damien Jurado was performing at in East Vancouver.  

Each time I'm in the Vancouver area, I always make this bookstore one of my stops.  In my 20's, I was very much into poetry and this bookstore had a huge new, out of print, and signed copies of work.  I found some F.R. Scott books that I had picked up on my first visit and get another book or two each time I'm there. Although I'm only in Vancouver every 5 years or so, this 
 bookstore never changes.

The song is about literary artists and musical artists both.  It is also a "tip of the hat" to Damien Jurado and F.R. Scott and the journey finding them.

I wrote the lyrics first as a poem for my father-in-law who recently passed away.  The bench was supposed to be a Christmas gift he and my mother-in-law were going to pick it up in the spring.  He recently passed away, and I still haven't finished the bench, but it will be finished in August.
