In recent years I've come up with many different arrangements for "Waiting.." Soulful, bluesy, moody, folky.  Therefore there are 4 different arrangements featured on this EP

The lyrics inspiration came from my observation of the sad life of a close friend who is no longer with us.

The song was written in 1983, by Dean Frost, at that time performing in the band Yes Sir. In essence Dean came up with the lyrics and vocal melody and the arrangement at that time largely came together with the help of keyboard player Niall McLaughlin during a rehearsal. The band later went on to record the song. The best example of this recording being an early version taken off the desk of the backing with guide vocals, to be found on guitarist Sparky Clarke's SoundCloud account.

Song and originally recorded it in 1989 but it has never had any real exposure and is as relevant to the present situation in the world as it was when I first wrote it. The Antarctic polar ozone hole may in fact be closing but rising carbon dioxide levels continue to drive Global Warming. And there may no longer be Third World Debt but the same rampant capitalism is sustaining the pollution and ravaging of the Earth's resources , along with worldwide inequality and Climate Change..
